YTD Raised: n/a

Healey Islamic Trust is a registered charity setup to establish Masjid and Madrasah facilities in the Healey area of Batley.Healey is an area with a large, young, growing Muslim community. There are approximately 400 Muslim households in the area and there is an urgent need for Masjid/Madrasah facilities. In October 2016, Healey Islamic Trust purchased Healey Mills on Healey Lane. Following a tender process, work started on site in November 2017 to convert two units into Masjid & Madrasah facilities. This is still ongoing and expected to be completed later in 2018 In Sha Allah.A significant proportion of the funds raised has been through Qarz-e-Hasana (Loans) which needs to be repaid over the coming years. Currently the debt stands at £390,000. To help us repay this, we urgently need your support in the form of Lillah and/or long term Qarz-e-Hasanah.Please donate Lillah to support our project. If you wish to loan us Qarz-e-Hasanah, please contact us on 01924 763036 or via our website and we will arrange. For Muslims, the building of a Masjid or contributing towards it is one of the most virtuous forms of Sadaqah-e-Jaariyah (continuous charity) that Allah has bestowed upon us. Sadaqah-e-Jaariyah will benefit the donor long after they have passed away. We pray that you will take up this opportunity to invest in the Aakhirah (hereafter) for yourself and your loved ones.Healey Islamic Trust is a registered charity and we are authorised to claim Gift Aid. If you are a UK Tax Payer, we can reclaim the tax you have paid on your Lillah donation e.g. if you donate £100, we can claim a further £25 back from the government making your donation go further.**Please Note: There is a a 15p transaction charge on debit card donations and a 1.30% transaction charge on credit card transactions charged by BT MyDonate to process the transaction. This renovation project is not like a normal renovation project where you employ a contractor to undertake all of the work. FMHT is a Service User and Carer run and lead Mental Health Charity and this project is being undertaken primarily by people who have Mental Health problems and is a Wellbeing Hub Project to help them rebuild self confidence, self esteem and develop new skills to equip them to enable them to get back into the job market. Therefore this Wellbeing Hub Project is a long term project that relies on when Mental Health Service Users are well enough to take part and the availability of Funding Grants to purchase materials etc and pay contractors for skills not available within the group. We have to remember that Mental Health is like a roller coaster ride, it is very up and down. We can’t always progress as fast as we would like to. Some of the Outcomes will include: Increased self esteem and self confidence. Healthier, more active lifestyle. Improved life skills. Improved citizenship skills. When completed some of the facilities the St Pats Community Halls Complex will include: Conference Room carpeted 19m x 11m; Hall with hard floor 10m x 11m; Cafe/Kitchen; Charity Shop; Meeting Rooms; Lounge; Concert Room; Gym; Games Room-snooker etc; Bingo; Carpet Bowls; Table Tennis; Basketball; Office; Living Accommodation; Garden; Car Park; Fibre Optic Broadband with Wi-Fi; Computers; A/V Equipment; etc.
