Our Rotary Club, seeks to contribute to the communities of Walton on Thames, Hersham, Molesey and surrounding areas. Chartered in 1931, we support local people who need practical and financial assistance, together with National and International Charities.
Our aim is to provide funding for small to medium sized organisations who are addressing specific needs in these regions. We are particularly keen to support those who have already begun to make an impact, but need a helping hand to expand their work and increase their effectiveness. We focus our help mainly on those who work directly with children and families but we recognise that many wider issues may also affect their welfare, so we are interested in any project which contributes to the quality of life of the people in our region.

The Nihal Armstrong Trust was set up in memory of Nihal who died at the age of 17, on the brink of adulthood, with an endowment from his mother. We provide funds to buy equipment or services which are desperately needed by children with cerebral palsy, living in the UK, and which the local authorities will not or do not provide. Many parents struggle to meet all their childs needs, particularly at this time of funding cuts. We are a small charity with limited funds which do not stretch to meet all the demands made on us, deserving of our assistance though they are. Our trustees are experts with many years experience of working with or living with cerebral palsy. We are unique in that hundred per cent of our money goes directly to children in need as we all work on a voluntary basis and contribute to the administrative costs of the charity.

We also have a well equipped indoor space which has room for table top games. If all this wasn’t enough we also have a sensory room for children with SENs to experiment in.

It also supports our staff to improve, extend and innovate their work with the latest technology and training, enabling them to provide patients with the very best and most up to date treatments available.
