Loan Smart (UK, 1176832) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Loan Smart is a new registered charity that has been established to help tackle the scourge of illegal money lending in the UK. The latest statistics estimate that 310,000 individuals nationally are borrowing from loan sharks, meaning that illegal money-lending is a significant problem in our communities. Data from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) shows that 36% of consumer credit enquiry calls to its Consumer Credit Centre involve status and regulation such as checking on a firm’s authorisation status. In addition, research conducted by the Illegal Money Lending Teams (IMLTs) indicates that a high percentage of people going to a loan shark did not realise it was illegal. There is therefore an opportunity to raise awareness of the existence of illegal money-lending.

Mistreated Animals Sanctuary (UK, 1147728) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

About Us M.A.S. was set up in 2010 with the aim to provide a sanctuary for mistreated animals in the North East of England. In June 2012 we were granted charitable status by the Charities Commission for England & Wales. Our sancturay aims to offer a place of saftey to any animal which has been the  victim of cruelty or neglect, by providing shelter and care for pets and farm animals, as well as wild animals suffering as a result of accidental injury. We will never turn any animals away. Cases of animal cruelty and neglect in the UK are increasing every year. Last year alone, the RSPCA received over 1.3 million phone calls, and the number of prosecutions rose by 20%. Behind all of these statistics are animals in need of care. We receive no government or lottery funding, and rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters. Any donation you can make will help to open our doors to mistreated, neglected, and injured animals. Please help us to help them
