YTD Raised: £0.00

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Happy Breed Foundation was set up to award grants to people on a low income who cannot afford to care adequately for their dogand also to award grants to other small reputable, registered, dog charitieswhich are struggling financially. Happy Breed Foundation wasoriginally Mid Sussex Happy Breed Dog Rescue Society which rescued stray andunwanted dogs from the Mid Sussex area for 60 years. During this time, in the course of our rescue work, we were repeatedly asked if we could help with veterinary costs. Unfortunately, at that time, we were unable to assist because of the high running costs involved in pursuing the rescuework which absorbed all available funds. When it was decided to changedirection to a grant awarding charity, Happy Breed Foundation was formed. At our invitation, localveterinarians, with whom we have excellent relationships, inform us of clients who they believe to have a genuine need for our help. After collecting further information regarding the circumstances of each request, careful consideration is given to each case with a view to deciding if financial assistance can be given. Woodland Ways Bushcraft Foundation (UK, 1158705) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Woodland Ways Bushcraft Foundation is a charity that aims to use the skills, history and story of bushcraft to provide tribal peoples around the globe with assistance where required or requested. This assistance is sometimes financial, is sometimes opening up access to opportunities, and is sometimes developing new opportunities. With the ultimate objectives being simple, we look to improve the quality of life of those individuals and communities that benefit from a lift up to allow themselves to overcome issues of poverty.  Based within the United Kingdom our reach is Global, with current key projects being undertaken within the Maasai community in Kenya. It is a pre-requisite for all projects that we support that it must be individually or community led by those affected, not led by the charity. Access to our services is for the benefit solely of those communities who want to lead themselves, we supply the means, knowhow and project management. All the money raised goes directly to the causes we work with. Not a penny is wasted. We are guided by strong ethics to ensure there is no personal financial gain from any of the team.

Brent Carers Centre (UK, 1066691) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Brent Carers Centre’s, supporting unpaid carers since 1994. Our vision is: “To ensure that unpaid carers are recognised, valued and supported to live rather than just exist." Being a carer is not something that people choose, they do it because they find themselves in a situation where their loved ones, cannot manage without their help and support. Carers care for a member of their family or a close friend who becomes ill, frail, has a mental health condition, a disability or suffers from an addiction. Carers often fall into financial hard-ship if they have to give up their jobs to care full-time. They become unable to look after their own health and wellbeing as a result of their demanding carer’s role. When a carers’ own health deteriorates or they reach breaking point, this can have a serious impact on them, their families, as well as the economy. Let’s not forget Young carers, as they are particularly vulnerable. They are very difficult to identify as they need additional support to understand they are carer and encouragement to come forward for support. We currently have over 5,500 carers registered with us, with the number growing every quarter. BRENDA KIRBY CHARITY (UK, 1144642) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Supporting people of all ages suffering from Cancer in the New Addington and surrounding areas The Charity was inspired by former Mayor of Croydon and New Addington Councillor Brenda Kirby MBE, who suffered from incurable brain and lung cancer. Brenda's battle against cancer was finally lost in September 2013. While she discovered the range of facilities on offer in Purley, Brenda also realised there was nothing like it in New Addington. It is difficult to get to Purley from New Addington, particularly by public transport and therefore this charity was set up in order that an extra centre in New Addington could be established. This is important because people suffering from cancer have found travelling from New Addington by public transport tiring, difficult and expensive.
