The Holt and District Rotary Trust Fund is regulated by the Charity Commission and is operated by Holt and District Rotary. We raise funds for charitable projects of both a local and international nature.
The Sewell Barn Company is the "in-house" drama company of the Friends of the Sewell Barn. The Company has established a considerable reputation for its presentation of a varied, challenging and ambitious programme of plays.
Our aim is to meet the short term need for emergency aid, and longer term need for social inclusion, of the most disadvantaged people in our communities. This includes the elderly, those living in poverty, young people disengaged from their families, those rehabilitating from drug and alcohol misuse, and those with disabilities (and their carers,) in need of respite. We also work with people with long term mental and physical health conditions to improve their health by providing activities that encourage a healthier lifestyle through exercise, healthy eating, and even more unusual activities like singing workshops.

The Boys’ Brigade: Dundee & Angus Battalion is a Battalion in East Central Scotland covering the county of Angus and the City and Royal Burgh of Dundee. We cover many of the populated areas and offer programmes to suit all boys. We are a church-based uniformed organisation for young people and have been around for more than 125 years. We have stood the test of time and are still here.
Jusoor is an international NGO founded in 2011. Our mission is to provide education to Syrian refugee children and young people. Jusoor has provided education to over 7000 Syrian refugee children, awarded 700 scholarships for university refugee students and trained 200 refugee entrepreneurs.
We promote and preserve the long tradition of sporting art in this country. We are enthusiasts about all aspects of sporting art from the traditional rural sports to modern-day team sports, from fine art to decorative work, from George Stubbs to Sir Alfred Munnings.
Hunter's Bar Playschool is a nurturing, child-led setting for children age 2-5. We have a strong ethos based on promoting learning through play, indoor/outdoor free-flow provision, and forming strong relationships with parents. We are a charity, run by a staff team of six and a Management Committee.

Our best-known event is the annual Great Knaresborough Bed Race on the second Saturday in June. The Knaresborough Lions have had full responsibility for organising it since 1999. We have a calendar of other fun and fundraising events through the year, including the Knaresborough Lions Beer Festival and touring the town with Santa and his sleigh before Christmas. We help run the Knaresborough Christmas Market, together with the Chamber of Trade and the Rotary Club. We run a popular mulled wine stall at the Christmas Market and also at Knaresborough's annual Bright Friday event in late November. From the funds we raise, we give donations to help with particular needs of local charities, sports clubs, medical facilities and other organisations. We support initiatives in schools and community centres, and help individuals and families facing hardship. At Christmas, we help with funding and distributing food parcels for the elderly, and we run an afternoon tea for those who might otherwise be on their own. We also volunteer as marshals and stewards at many community events in the local area. You can often see us in our distinctive tabards - do come and say hello!
