Lawshall pre-school is a self funded organisation and charity, run by a committee. We are located within the grounds of All Saints’ Primary School in Lawshall, Suffolk. We offer childcare for pre-school age children, five days a week We believe in a fun and active path for early years education, allowing the children in our care to develop at their own pace, in a safe environment with activities they love. Our mission is to help each child make the transition from preschool to reception and onwards into the main school with confidence and ease. The Lawshall Pre-School Charity and All Saints CEVC Primary School are located in rural Suffolk, sharing the same site in the village of Lawshall. For many years the School and Pre-School have worked closely together to help ensure that young children are given the best start that is possible to their education, which has been recognised by Ofsted. However, a lack of space and government funding means that both settings are forced to share a building. As a result, children in Year One do not have a classroom of their own and the Pre-School can only offer a limited number of hours to children and their families in the community. With the forthcoming requirement to provide 30 hours of childcare to parents, this means the future of our Pre-School is uncertain. With your help, we can secure the future of our Pre-School and deliver more for our children and community by creating an Early Years Centre of Excellence, comprised of a new Pre-School building and outside learning area. This will provide a Pre School with its own permanent home on the school site, delivered in close partnership with the school and providing multiple benefits to young children and their families. The Seahorse Trust was set up to conserve and preserve Seahorses through studying them in the wild, in captivity and through education. We have already made a big difference by getting both types of British Seahorses protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and with your help we can do more. Seahorses are endangered in the wild for a number of reasons such as habitat loss and worse still the Traditional Medicine trade where in excess of 6o million are taken from the sea every year. Here at the trust we aim to make a difference for Seahorses, for the marine environment and for the future, the more that is donated the more we can do. So please dig deep, put on an event to raise funds and lets all make a change for the better in our marine world.
