Our aim is to ensure that vulnerable people needing a hot tasty meal can get it. Rather than having a café(s) run the scheme with individuals coming and asking for a meal, our vouchers are given to our partnering organisations who distribute them to individuals. (UK, 1109091) Browse eventsSince its launch in 2005, the Aegis Foundation has identified, planned and delivered over 300 projects, predominately in Iraq. The aim is to carry out low-cost, high-impact community projects to help impoverished communities directly and efficiently, with respect and understanding of their needs and concerns. In addition to the immediate benefit to communities, the Aegis Foundation, where possible, focuses on the importance of establishing the foundations for local empowerment and future prosperity. It also maximises its impact by making every penny count through close liaison with its beneficiaries, allowing them to communicate what they really need, not just providing what we believe they need. Examples of projects in Iraq include; building toilet facilities in a primary school that previously had none, providing equipment to a village clinic, building water wells in villages that have no running water, and supplying sports equipment to schools. Every penny we raise goes directly towards funding these projects.
