Its mission is to promote the Royal Air Force, to support its people now and into the future, and to encourage air-mindedness and the aviation-related education of youth.  This is achieved, primarily, through the staging of the Royal International Air Tattoo, the Royal Air Force Concerts and other similar activities; and the giving of grants to satisfy the Trusts objects. The Charitable Trusts aims are to enhance the environment of serving personnel and their families; and a commitment to young people, to initiate and develop within them an enthusiasm for aviation. It particularly likes to support projects and welfare facilities that will benefit those preparing for, or serving on front-line deployments and their families at RAF stations around the country.

The Community Heartbeat Trust (UK, 1132824) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,747.65

The Community Heartbeat Trust helps communities undertake defibrillator projects taking into account the needs for the right equipment, the right support, the right adherence to liabilities and governance, community awareness and training programmes, and help with the fund raising and long term support for these projects. As the leading community defibrillator charity in the UK, we have become recognised by ambulance services, councils, community groups and sports governing bodies as the 'gold standard', having set many of the standards now being adopted by other organisations. We live, breath and are hugely passionate about community defibrillation in all its forms, and seek always to offer a holistic and objective advice to communities. We believe a defibrillator is for LIFE and not just for Christmas, and these medical devices should be available to save lives. But they are just that, a medical device, and must be treated with respect. A good project is not about just a defibrillator in the community, but one that forms part of a resilient process, addressing needs, and fully backed by Governance. www.communityheartbeat.org.uk

YTD Raised: £3,741.25

Our precious baby girl, Aila Coull, lost her battle to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (A.M.L.) aged 16 months following five months of grueling treatment. A.M.L. accounts for less than 20% of childhood leukaemias. It is more often found in adults, where the majority of research is carried out, but behaves very differently in children. There is only a 50% survival rate with this paediatric cancer which depends hugely on each individual patient's particular genetic complications. In setting up The Aila Coull Foundation, our main aim is to help fund research into newer, better treatments and ultimately a cure for this aggressive disease. The Foundation will also from time to time support other charitable purposes or organisations connected with childhood Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
