Walworth Golden Oldies Community Care Project (UK, 1105403) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Walworth Golden Oldies is a well established charity based in the heart of Camberwell that has been making a positive difference in the lives of older people for the past 23 years. We provide a high standard of day care and support services.  Our aim is to assist older people to maintain healthy and productive lifestyles, whilst ensuring they have access to a wide range of services and activities, enabling choice and dignity in later life. Golden Oldies Launch appeal to stay open  Golden Oldies is a well-established charity that is small enough to reach deep into the community. This ensures  we are able to provide day care and support services to older people who are desperately in need of support. The Charity was receiving funding from Southwark council for many years but unfortunately due to their budget restraints and funding cuts. Golden Oldies is no longer in receipt of this funding stream. The charity has struggled to raise funds recently and is now at a point where closure is imminent if we are not able to secure funds soon. Please donate now and together lets help to ensure older people have the support they require and deserve

YTD Raised: £0.00

The RSPCA Bradford and District Branch is self funding which means we depend on the good will and generosity of our community to donate enough money to allow us to provide an ANIMAL HOME, the home provides comfortable care for sick and injured, mistreated and abandoned domestic animals, these being mainly cats, rabbits, dogs and some small furry animals. and a WELFARE CLINIC, which provides low cost veterinary care for pets whose families are unable to afford private veterinary fees. The Branch run a re-homing and adoption service and pledge that all money raised is spent locally on caring for animals in the Bradford and District Area. To continue to provide these essential services we operate 5 shops where we take in clothes, books and small household items to sell on, we also depend heavily on legacies and our fund raising activities that we organise throughout the year. In 2010 1,193 animals were cared for in the animal home and 6,500 consultations and 900 operations were carried out in our clinic. We have a small dedicated team working for a very busy area. All donations are always gratefully received.

RBST is the leading national charity dedicated to the conservation of the UKs native breeds of farm livestock. Sustainable populations of native breeds provide genetic diversity within the UK’s farm livestock. Within rare and native breeds are the essential building blocks to underpin genetic livestock diversity and aid sustainable livestock systems. These breeds provide a means of managing areas of countryside in a way sympathetic to wildlife through conservation grazing. Natural adaptation of local breeds is a vital tool for sustainable land management. Native breeds also contribute to consumer choice in the food we eat and provide quality local products to meet consumer values and priorities. These breeds are also part of this countrys agricultural heritage. RBST maintains a national gene bank to help safeguard the future of these rare breeds; analyses rare breed pedigrees to develop breeding conservation programmes; provides conservation grants to breed societies; provides support to livestock keepers promoting the importance of native breeds in livestock systems and monitors breed populations and trends to identify our breeds most at risk.

Chance To Play (UK, 1139245) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Chance to Play is empowering vulnerable children through exercise and sport Initially Chance to Play focused on Vietnam. As a result of years of poverty and the after effects of the Vietnam War, the country has large numbers of orphaned and underprivileged children who have not had the opportunity to develop key skills in communications team work, physical coordination and self-confidence.  Through sport we will change the young lives for the better. Our first project came to fruition in August 2011 in Da Lat in central Vietnam. We partnered with Saigon Children’s Charity, and funded the renovation of a playground and swings for a shelter for visually impaired children. The project has been a great success and the first of many! If you are interested in what Chance to Play does and want to make a difference we can send you fundraising ideas and support and regular updates about what your donations are achieving in our projects.
