The 24th World Scout Jamboree will be taking place at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, USA in July 2019. For the first time it will be jointly hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico and the USA. The UK Contingent to the Jamboree will be the largest ever Contingent from the UK to an overseas event.The World Scout Jamboree is all about Scouts from across the world, coming to spend time together, to have fun, and to look at issues that are important to everybody. The Jamboree itself lasts 12 days, plus some events either side, to make a 3 week expedition.Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Sam has been  selected for the 2019 World Scout Jamboree in the USA. He will be raising money along side other scouts from West Sussex.He's  going to try to cycle from East Preston to Edinburgh (miles wise, not literally!) between 6th October and 6th April and raise sponsorship. Though this common bug is more usually associated with sore throats, serious invasive infections can be as fast, deadly and difficult to spot as Meningitis. The Fund also seeks to promote awareness of invasive Strep A infections, their symptoms and possible consequences, as well as their links with common childhood diseases such as Chicken Pox.
