THE CHURCH OF ALL SAINTS, CLIFTON is a characteristic mid Bedfordshire building: small, dignified and compact. On looking round, one can catch a sense of a simple mediaeval church; it would have had a much lower roof and would have been slightly smaller but, with the careful Victorian restoration, enough of its basic shape and character remain. It is also possible to sense the concern of the congregation for Clifton church today. For the church is not simply a museum. The congregation continues its worship to the glory of God, aware of its heritage of 700 years or more and gladly continues the task of adding to the beauty of the church. The East Window is a focal point in the church and is much admired by everyone especially our wedding couples where it forms the backdrop to their wedding day. Over the years, the external stonework has been eroded and last year was in danger of collapse; For a number of months during 2017 the window was obscured from view as the stonework was carefully cut away and replaced. That work is now complete and the window can be seen in all its former glory thanks to the generosity of so many people. The church is open seven days a week during daytime hours, and is always available for quiet reflection, prayer, or simply to enjoy the beauty and peace of the building. The church is  also used by the community with; Craft & Chat mornings, Community Café, and Clifton Care Scheme afternoon teas - they all provide much needed opportunities for social cohesion. Our church is financed entirely by donations from the congregation plus income from a number of fund raising events, so if you have found peace or enjoyment from the church we encourage you to make a donation – we are determined that All Saints Church will always be here for you throughout your life.
