Based on the psychology of Alfred Adler, Adlerian counselling focuses on feelings of isolation and inferiority and the behaviours that we use to overcome these feelings - what he called the Inferiority complex. Becouse these behaviours are learnt in childhood and tend to stay with us all our lives Adlerian counselling works with childhood memories, family life and birth orders and supporting young people and their families is a very important aspect of the work that we do here. As well as Young People's and Family counselling, Adlerian Counselling can be applied to beneficially to virtually all mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, relationships and personality disorders, looking at the causes not just the symptoms of issues.
