YTD Raised: £0.00

Nursery school education in The Gambia is private sector and very expensive for the families to be able to afford. Ebo Town Community Nursery School, is able to offer 80 children a FREE education totally. The charity are supporting staff members through Teacher Training College, and growing and building their own staff. Not only do we educate 80 children, we have helped in the community, by supporting families in terrible living conditions, with putting on new roofs, giving out beds and bedding, raising concrete floors so rooms do not flood. We are busy with a school build project at the moment, and need every penny to get it completed. We are short £18,000. The aim is to have an extra classroom, to help another 40/50 children. We do appeals twice a year and help our families with Rice bags, Life saving mosquito nets, and cleaning packs. We are a tiny charity, just trying to ease lives for families living in poverty and hardship. Every single penny raised goes to the school and the children, trustees all work voluntary from the Love of their hearts. Lets make a difference, please help us to help people living in such hardship and try and put smiles on faces. Thank you.

Pershore Rotary Club Trust Fund (UK, 1022572) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Pershore and thank you for dropping by our fundraising website. We are the Pershore, UK, local branch of Rotary International and a part of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Based around the concept of "Service above Self", we are a socially active group, working as a team of friends and professionals together to raise funds for charities locally around Pershore and for national and International causes. Much more about us can be found at Rotary Club of Pershore Website What are we doing at the moment? Firstly we are setting up a satellite club to encourage a younger group of enthusiastic people to join in the Rotary mission of charitable work. If you'd like to join them, then please go to our website (link above) for more details. But as well as that us older members are continuing our fundraising efforts in support of the local community, international aid and disaster relief. As Christmas comes round each year, we run one of our main fundraising events of the year - the Pershore Tree of Lights - which raises money for Acorns and other Rotary Supported Charities. We sponsor a massive Christmas Tree in Pershore centre and invite you to sponsor a name on the tree - with the proceeds of the sponsorship going to these worthy causes. Last year we raised over £3,000 and gave £1,500 each to Acorns Children's Hospice and the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre. This year we are raising money for these same two wonderful charities and hope that you will consider helping us - we'd like to raise £5,000 this year to add to the over £32,000 that you've all helped us raise since we started the Pershore Tree of Lights. You can find out more and give here Pershore Tree of Lights In 2013 Pershore Rotary Club sent £4,539 to their partner Kandy Rotary Club in Sri Lanka. Kandy Rotarians used these funds to screen the eyesight of 1,500 people at eye camps in three different locations. This year we are aiming to send a similar amount again, helped by Rotary International matching the amount of donations that we raise. See much more about this incredible project by selecting "Kandy Eye Camps" on the left.

The Holly Martin Stillbirth Research Fund (UK, XT27576) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

In the UK more than 4000 babies a year are stillborn, many for no apparent reason. That is 10 a day. This statistic has not improved in 20 years. We are raising money and awareness for stillbirth research. All proceeds go to the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre at St Marys Hospital, Manchester. Stillbirth is a devastating thing to happen and funding is desperately needed to help reduce the numbers. I started this charity in memory of my first baby Holly who died when I was 9 months pregnant.
