To promote mental health and well being amongst vulnerable people in Yorkshire by engaging individuals in meaningful creative and learning activities, with an emphasis on social inclusion, basic employment skills and other personal development.
We are a non-profit community gym that promotes a friendly and social atmosphere which often leads to gym phobics becoming gym members, we work mainly with the disabled and long-term health sufferers of Sheffield including disabled children and teenagers. We promote health and fitness in a fun non judgemental way through sport and exercise. We have a full range of clientele with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome and many more conditions. We take our exercise programme to any disabled group that requires help along with our dedicated wheelchair activity treadmills and weighing scales for wheelchairs. We also help people who have suffered life changing amputations just like our main instructor. We need you the public’s help in raising funds to buy a new vehicle, so we can carry on serving the Sheffield disabled communities. Fun Fact - we don’t have a vehicle it was on its last legs just like our Instructor and he only needs one, as he as a spare! we need four legs (four wheels) on a new small van so we carry on the good work we do. We have asked main car companies to help but with no joy. So, could you ask your boss or bosses to help fuel our way to a new disability friendly van, or can you use your legs to help raise funds by running, walking or pushing the target up by helping us with a donation or by doing your own fundraising on behalf of all the people we help. We are breaking down barriers in main stream gyms and fitness classes by changing the normal and introducing disabled people to social inclusion in an industry that normally socially excludes them. So have a look next time you're exercising in a gym or class and say hello to a disabled person and make a gym friend for life. You never know when you might need us, every day is a new day.
