The majority of training delivered is however to young people in the form of Apprenticeship Programmes and the new Foundations Programmes. Skills for Growth also run a range of short term targeted initiatives that help prepare young people for the world of work. Our aim is to provide young people with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a fulfilling and prosperous life. Many of these employers have stated that young people leaving the educational sector do not possess the correct skills and attributes needed for their business. Colombian Happy Faces is a small charity committed to fighting child poverty in Colombia, South America. Often working directly with street children, past projects have included getting orphaned and abandoned children into a care centre when they had previously been forced to work and beg at traffic lights just to survive. Our current project is co-funding a residential home and care centre for children with AIDS in Neiva, south-west Colombia. The building structure has now been completed but funds are urgently needed to complete the fit-out and provide the specialist equipment that is essential to help care for these sick children. Colombian Happy Faces is run on an entirely voluntary basis so every penny of your donation goes directly to helping some of the most disadvantaged children in South America.
