Biddulph CAB has been serving the former mining community of Biddulph for over 25 years. Our dedicated and highly trained team of staff and volunteers provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face in areas like debt, benefits, employment, housing and consumer; last year we helped more than 1,300 people with over 5,500 different problems, with many receiving specialist advice in debt and welfare rights. Equally important is our aim to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives by collecting evidence and campaigning for change. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. The contribution made by our volunteers aged between 19 and 79 is vital; coming from all walks of life and bringing a wide range of experience plus enthusiasm and energy, they underpin all that we do. We know that the lives of many of our clients are changed for the better by the help and support received from the volunteers. What is less well known is that volunteering at CAB can be a life changing experience too, a fact with which many of our volunteers will agree.

Thousands of children across China and India don’t have access to education, healthcare or a nutritional diet…just some of the things that we take for granted. Now I Eat seeks to provide relief among the young disadvantaged children in these countries. Our aim is to open future doors for these people in the world of work by improving their health and by providing them a decent education. Where Now I Eat differs from a lot of charities, is that we rely on volunteers keeping our costs to a minimum so that maximum benefit is received by the children. Please donate to support our cause.Since 2011 PWP has received over £130,000 from compassionate and generous individuals and Churches. We are using these donations to support Wau, a region in South Sudan - one of the world’s newest countries. Wau currently has considerable needs, partly due to famine and internal conflict. Our initial project was to fund the building of a guest house in Wau – to accommodate visitors and to provide a revenue stream for the Church in Wau. The guest house was completed in 2015 at a cost of around £55,000.Our current focus is on education, both spiritual and practical. We have contributed around £40,000 towards education, centred on St John’s college in Wau, but including provision for more specialised training elsewhere in the region. In 2016 we committed to support the permanent theological teaching staff in St John’s college for a further 3 years. We are also hoping to facilitate the sponsorship of business students at St John’s college. In addition to our main projects, we responded rapidly to the recent unrest in South Sudan by sending over £27,000 to the Church in Wau to provide much needed food for internally displaced people. The Orkney Drugs Dog is a new charity which aims to provide a drugs dog for the county.Following concerns originally raised by the Community Safety Partnership around the level of drug misuse and abuse, and the disruption caused to family life in the county, Orkney Drugs Dog has been set up to provide drugs education and detection services in Orkney. The main aim of the charity is to provide education and awareness in local schools and Orkney College. The dog and handler will also provide detection support to Police Scotland, for example at ferry and air ports and in other areas where local detection is required. For the past year, and more, the Steering Group have been working closely with Voluntary Action Orkney, the Orkney Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, Police Scotland and Shetland’s Dogs Against Drugs team. Two new posts will be created in support of the initiative: a Development Officer, who will source future funding, and a specialist Dog Handler. Once these posts are filled, we will then be in a position to search for a suitable dog to become our Drugs Detection Dog.Once the handler and dog are in position they will head south for full training and Home Office licencing. They will then prepare to become ready for educational duties in our schools and our College and operationally ready for drugs detection under a partnership agreement with Police Scotland. We are looking forward to them being out and about in the community, on the streets and into our educational and residential establishments in order to get the dog used to being in among the public in a variety of situations and we hope that the public embrace this initiative fully. Developing Artists is a registered charity committed to supporting the performing arts in conflict and post-conflict nations. Its projects connect people and institutions in some of the worlds poorest countries with an international network of theatre companies and practitioners. Developing Artists strengthens underprivileged communities by providing constructive outlets for their creative life and long-term opportunities for self-expression and professional development. Developing Artists works in two key ways. It creates collaborative productions in each nation and through these productions identifies talented individuals who would benefit from participation in the charitys Apprenticeship Programme. Over the last seven years Developing Artists has delivered over 20 projects in eight countries and brought together artists and performing arts organizations throughout the world. The charity fosters a self-sustaining approach to the arts through which individuals acquire the skills to earn an income from their work and begin to support their own projects over the long term. They are further encouraged to share what they have learned within their local communities thereby acting as catalysts for wider change.
Donations through Virgin Money Giving are designated to support the Deep Roots youth discipleship programme. This is a Christian interdenominational organisation working in Uganda to develop young people’s relationships with Christ, encouraging discipleship and equipping the youth to understand and live out their faith. In much the same way as plants need deep roots to survive and flourish, young Christians need to develop deep roots if they are to be fruitful. Many young people hear the word of God in Uganda and respond; far more than in the West. However, opportunities to strengthen their faith and relationship with Christ are often lacking, especially in rural areas. As a result, many of the youth face the cares of their world (the legacy of armed conflict, poverty, disease and the conflicting pulls of both western and traditional cultures) with ungrounded faith, largely unsupported and unprepared. Through working with the youth, Deep Roots aims to change a nation through the transformation of individuals and communities who will practically demonstrate an alternative to the lifestyles and life choices that have lead to scourges such as HIV and AIDS, corruption, robbery, poverty and domestic violence that are sadly all too common in local society.

The college provides an exciting environment where students can follow programmes designed to maximise the possibilities for them to live and work independently in the future. The charity, Friends of Hereward College, exists to further the educational aspirations and ambitions of students by providing additional funds that enables them to access training, equipment and services without which they would be disadvantaged. By supporting our work you will be helping us to ensure that we continue to offer the first class opportunities our students need to make their way in the world.
Let me first begin by introducing ourselves. Our grandfather was known as Rambhai Prince of Baroda, which is situated in the western state of Gujarat in India. He received his prince status because he had a heart of gold. When we say a heart of gold, what he did for people there was worth so much more. Homelessness and starvation is rife in India, and we really want to help in carrying forward our grandfather’s legacy. Our grandfather ensured that anyone that turned up on his doorstep was invited in and treated like a member of the family, and fed until they could eat no more. We are a newly based charity company and we are working on our first project, which is to help raise funds for the homeless kids is KASTURBA SEVASHRAM in India. Of course there are many other institutions that require funding for various needs, but we can only take on one project at a time until we grow more. We have now raised more than £5,000 so are now registered with The Charity Commission for England and Wales. The Company registration number is 7274909 and the Charity Registration number for England and Wales is 1136542. If you would like to be part of our mission to help disadvantaged children, then please help us by making a donation. You can also support the charity on a long term basis by signing up to making a monthly donation. Donations can start from as little as £1.00. Thank You RAMVIJ
Lawn Pre-School is a popular and successful Pre-School, catering for the needs of children aged 3 to 5. We provide an exciting and stimulating learning experience to help children gain the confidence and skills they need ready to start school. Our friendly and highly trained staff help each child feel safe and secure and able to reach their potential. The Pre-School is a charitable, non-profit making organisation, run by a committee of parents. Unfortunately, fees alone do not provide all the funds we need in order to offer all the vital equipment and resources required to provide a wide variety of activities for the children. Our fund raising team work alongside the staff and committee to raise funds that go towards the purchase of new equipment, days out for the children and improvements to the Pre-School. It also allows us to fund extra staff hours for when we may need to provide important one-to-one time for any of our children who may need it for whatever reason. ANY DONATIONS YOU ARE ABLE TO MAKE ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU!

Family Caring Trust has been a 'silent partner' in family and children’s services since 1986. We publish low-cost, evidence-based, easy to use programmes in kit form, which are used by community, voluntary and public sector services all over the UK and Ireland in their work with parents, young people and couples. Our programmes are valued because they take a common-sense approach which is respectful of both parents and children. The kit format makes life easier for busy professionals who can use them 'on the run' and for novice facilitators who can lean on the script, the DVD input and full instructions provided. This approach to universal provision has enabled over half a million people to experience our programmes since 1986. External evaluations of our parenting programmes have provided evidence of impact using a number of validated measures. We also provide Initial Training in our programmes and have an OCN level 3 accredited programme available for those who don’t already have qualifications in work with parents.
