Bervie Play Parks (UK, SCO42985) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Bervie Play Parks Committee was set up with the aim of raising money to improve and expand upon the existing, limited, playground facilities in Inverbervie. We are a registered charity (SCO42985). Our strategy has been to involve the whole community in our fund raising activities so that everyone feels they have a stake in the completed project. Our emphasis has been upon family friendly events; monthly roller discos, Easter trails, Halloween parties and a Jubilee street party. We have organised a comprehensive program of children’s holiday events and in addition, we have compiled a CD showcasing local music. The Burgh Hall has been turned in to a cinema, showcasing the latest films. We persuaded fifty people to abseil off the North Water Bridge in Montrose. We have brought a wide variety of workshops and activities to the village, with card crafting, cave exploring, circus training and everything in between. We want to make sure the journey is as much fun as reaching the destination! Our first priority is to completely revamp the Church Street play park, turning it into a fully refurbished, inclusive play space which will be renamed "The Cutty Park". We'll soon have plans to put on public display and these will give a sense of the transformation. To date, we have raised £16,047.19, and for the completion of this park, we need to raise approximately £80,000. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have already received and look forward to having lots of fun raising the rest. We are committed to providing excellent play facilities for our children, to improve their health and well-being, and to make Inverbervie and even better place to live! the edward newell memorial (UK, XT26052) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The purposes of the Charity are for the advancement of health and improvement in the quality of lives for children and young people with “autism with severe learning difficulties". The charity is a memorial to Edward Newell who died on 21 June 2010. Edward’s strength of character, sense of humour and incredible spirit has left a hole in the hearts of his family and those that knew him. Our love for Edward now finds its voice and inspiration in the formation of a permanent charity whose core aim is to help children and young adults who, like Edward, are diagnosed with ASLD. We also aim to provide support to the families who are struggling to cope with the daily realities of caring for someone with this condition. Please note that the charity will be entirely for the public benefit; costs relating to Edward’s own memorial to commemorate his life do not form part of the charity. HMR&C Charities have accepted The Edward Newell Memorial as a charity for tax purposes under their reference XT26052. Payments received can be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme, the 25% gift aid. The HMR&C Model Declarations for fit and proper persons acting as charity trustees are in place. The Trustees do not expect to incur any administrative charges at this stage, all work being carried on a voluntary basis.   CHARITY DEFINITIONS: kindness and tolerance in judging others; love of humankind; the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need; generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless; a charitable act or work; benevolent feeling, especially towards those in need or in disfavour; leniency and forbearance in judging others

Loan Smart (UK, 1176832) Browse events

Loan Smart is a new registered charity that has been established to help tackle the scourge of illegal money lending in the UK. The latest statistics estimate that 310,000 individuals nationally are borrowing from loan sharks, meaning that illegal money-lending is a significant problem in our communities. Data from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) shows that 36% of consumer credit enquiry calls to its Consumer Credit Centre involve status and regulation such as checking on a firm’s authorisation status. In addition, research conducted by the Illegal Money Lending Teams (IMLTs) indicates that a high percentage of people going to a loan shark did not realise it was illegal. There is therefore an opportunity to raise awareness of the existence of illegal money-lending.

Mistreated Animals Sanctuary (UK, 1147728) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

About Us M.A.S. was set up in 2010 with the aim to provide a sanctuary for mistreated animals in the North East of England. In June 2012 we were granted charitable status by the Charities Commission for England & Wales. Our sancturay aims to offer a place of saftey to any animal which has been the  victim of cruelty or neglect, by providing shelter and care for pets and farm animals, as well as wild animals suffering as a result of accidental injury. We will never turn any animals away. Cases of animal cruelty and neglect in the UK are increasing every year. Last year alone, the RSPCA received over 1.3 million phone calls, and the number of prosecutions rose by 20%. Behind all of these statistics are animals in need of care. We receive no government or lottery funding, and rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters. Any donation you can make will help to open our doors to mistreated, neglected, and injured animals. Please help us to help them
