(UK, 1158157) Browse eventsWe may be called Malamute Matters...but all dogs matter to us ... Malamute Matters started out on our fundraising endeavour by answering the plight of a rescue Alaskan Malamute called Alfie, who needed costly surgery to save his sight, the amount we raised was double what he needed so we also sent money to two other sled dogs in need of eye surgery including a blind husky, then we sent generous donations to each of our supported rescues. We also helped Arctic Breeds Rescue in Australia, who were caring for a 7 month old Alaskan Malamute called Mally whose medical care and treatment costed thousands of dollars, and MM made a donation to contribute towards these medical fees. Funds are raised by way of regular auctions, appeals, online photo competitions, attending shows and other various fundraising activities supported by our dedicated volunteers. Funds are also raised via our Malamute Matters Fundraising Store at www.malamutematters.co.uk which is an exciting and innovative project set up to raise funds for dog rescues both in the UK and abroad. The store offers a wide range of products aimed at dog owners and dog lovers. 100% of the profits made on items sold via the store are donated to dog rescues and to assist one off cases. However, with rescues increasingly becoming overfull, sadly bursting at the seams and more and more dogs becoming ill or at worst ill treated and abused, we are facing the need to source regular financial donations and awareness of our charity Malamute Matters. We are constantly striving for support from people in the public eye to help give us public awareness. And a fact that not many people are aware of is that we are made up solely of Volunteers. There are 41 Volunteers, including four trustees , two Rescue Co-oridnators, A Company Secretary, Fund Raising Manager and Social Media and Blog co-ordinator.
