School Aid India is a flourishing small charity making a real difference to the lives of poor children in India. Every penny donated goes to fund our project, setting up, building and maintaining a primary school for disadvantaged children in Darjeeling, in the foothills of the Himalayas. As well as paying for buildings and teachers, we provide equipment and expertise, successfully raising the standard of education on offer through privately funded visits by UK professionals. Roseberry School Darjeeling opened in 2007. It has been built and developed by a highly competent and devoted local team with whom the charity has excellent links. The scope and prospects for future developments are exciting.

Since 1978 LOAF Project has raised over £500,000 for projects around the world. This year we are aiming to raise £15000 to help keep girls of the Minembwe Plateau, DRC in school by supplying 450 hygiene packs free. These include 4 pretty easy-wash fabric towelettes, Waterproof panties and liners, Soap and deodorant to freshen up. These are sustainable and last 4 years.Trying their best… many girls use leaves; some manage to make towels out of unhygienic paper or old rags, and there’s a lack of hot showers, which together can lead to infections, taking away their rights to hygiene and health. And they don’t have the money to pay for the badly needed medical care. Many charities donate supplies to the DRC, but not the never spoken-of, badly needed sanitary products – hard to find and too costly for local girls. Make Our Vision Your Vision…Loaf FREEDOM Project aims to support and give DRC girls the future they deserve, by giving them the FREEDOM to:✔ Get affordable feminine care✔ Stay healthy and happy✔ Be respected and valued✔ Have a good, safe education✔ Support their families✔ Grow up with confidence✔ Earn a good living for life. The Friends of Ibba Girls School charity helps develop and build a residential girls school in the village of Ibba in South Sudan, the world's newest nation. Grounded in Christian values, the school will provide high quality education for girls aged 10 to 18 of all faiths and none, in a country where the vast majority of girls currently receive no schooling beyond the age of ten. We are seizing a once in a generation opportunity to make a practical difference, after decades of civil war, to the education and life chances of girls in South Sudan.

Medical Assistance Sierra Leone was established in 2003 with the aim of supporting access to health care and urgent medical treatment for communities and individuals in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is the poorest country in the world (UNDP 2004), with high infant mortality and globally the worst maternal mortality rates. Sierra Leone's health infrastructure clearly requires support at all levels. However there are specific strategic areas where an input of resources can be expected to begin to save lives, improve health and well-being and better enable individuals to meet the vast development challenges facing their families and communities. MASL focuses on three areas of work longterm: Reducing maternal mortality. About 2% of women die in childbirth, largely due to lack of services to manage emergency obstetric care, harmful traditional practices, inadequately trained staff, a weak referral system and high hospital-patient costs. Reducing child mortality. A study by the government and UNICEF revealed that 1 out of 4 children die before their fifth birthday. Children are dying from easily treatable illnesses like malaria, which accounts for up to 65% of such deaths, diarrohea, measles and complications associated with malnutrition. Low cost, well-targeted interventions can save lives. Facilitating access to treatment for those with rare and specialist medical conditions, who face no prospect of getting treatment in Sierra Leone. Currently this includes support to spinal surgery patients, developing the first epilepsy service in Sierra Leone with UK consultants and plastic surgery support to burns patients. MASL works with others to raise awareness of the key health and development issues facing communities in Sierra Leone - and to generate interest and support in meeting the health needs of the country. We have virtually no UK overheads and employ one Coordinator in Sierra Leone, who liaises with and supports local partners and carries out a monitoring and evaluation function.
The Chelsea Burley Trust was Created after our daughter Chelsea was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2012 and is still fighting now. We want to help by raising as much money as we can to help with the much needed research into brain tumours. We also aim to give the other oncology patients of Stoke the opportunity to have some fun by funding days out and to make the oncology day room and ward a more comfortable place to be as the patients and their families do spend a great lot of time there for treatment.
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to go hungry. That’s why we provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of local Foodbanks, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
