Creative Carbon Scotland believe that the arts and culture have an essential role in achieving the transformational change to a sustainable future. Our vision is of a Scotland where this role is fully recognised, developed and utilised by both the cultural world and others interested in sustainability. Our mission is therefore to connect the arts and culture with others working towards that transformational change in order to bring it about. Our objective is larger than achieving incremental change in small pockets: we want to form a network of creative individuals and organisations who together can alter perceptions and change society using the work they make and present, the way they operate and how they speak to the public. We work with artists and individuals, cultural and sustainability organisations, funders and policy makers, connecting them to the change process and exploring how the cultural sector can contribute.

Our charity has been providing specialist bereavement counselling for over 20 years. Most of our clients come to us following a traumatic loss. This can include violent death, suicide or unexpected death but can also be as the result of a long term illness. We also help clients who may have unresolved grief, this may mean that the client has been unable to grieve normally, despite the passing of time. Our counsellors are all volunteers and have received specific, in depth training in bereavement counselling. We see clients from Plymouth and West Devon and in order to start working with a client we require a GP referral in the first instance. Anderson’s Care Home has deep roots in the community. It operates as a charitable trust founded by General Anderson’s legacy in 1832 with a mission to provide exceptional care for residents. The existing lifts in the old, listed building were installed many years ago but their capacities were limited by the internal design of the building. They are now too small for efficient operation of a modern Care Home and comfort of residents. The new Lift will be constructed at the rear of the main building and has been designed to take several passengers and equipment. It will make a big difference to the daily lives of residents and staff. This is our second Lift Appeal. In 2019 we managed to raise £100,000. Unfortunately, Covid-19 brought all plans to a halt. Now that we are able to start again, we find that prices have risen dramatically and we need to fundraise a further £70,000. Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated.
Our Junior and Senior programmes see students preparing and presenting their own cases before Sheriffs through Scotland. Our speciality days aim to incorporate other disciplines into the cases like science and art experts. We also look to send a team to the International Mock Court 2020 in Poland.
