The Spafford Children’s Center provides healthcare for some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The Center was founded nearly 100 years ago by an American, Bertha Spafford Vester, and is still supported today by her descendants. Based on humanitarian values, the Center gives help to those in need regardless of race, religion or cultural background. Lack of progress towards peace in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian territories aggravates the stress and trauma felt by families of the region. Innocent children, caught up in the conflict, experience violence and discrimination, as well as isolation from friends and family because of Israel’s Separation Wall and imposed travel restrictions between East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The children we care for are the link to a future where we hope for change, peace and opportunity for all. They deserve our best efforts on their behalf, which is why we have designed a unique holistic approach to child health by involving our medical, psychological, social work and educational practitioners in the diagnosis of each child’s health and emotional problems. The current situation with high unemployment and a depressed economy means that many families in need cannot afford even our small fees for treatment – we need your support to help fund a child or his/her mother through treatment. Thank you for your support!

It has served our community for over 800 years - hosting weddings, baptisms, funerals, community events as well as regular church services. Now the church needs our help to make it truly welcoming for all in our community. This loved historic building currently has no toilets, social space or facilities to offer refreshments. After years of detailed planning and consultation with statutory bodies and the local community, we have developed a scheme to provide these much-needed facilities. We have planning permission and now need your help to raise £1m to begin building in 2025.
