ANNUAL FUND 2012-13 Windermere School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school in England's Lake District National Park, that educates students from age 3-18 years. Truly international in nature, the school offers GCSEs, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and vocational qualifications. Each year our Annual Fund provides parents, alumni and wider supporters with the opportunity to enrich the lives of students. 2013 is a special "target year", in which we hope to make a real difference through funding projects to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the school. Our key objectives are: a) New, comfortable seats and a "face lift" for Crampton Hall. The school's theatre is the "shop front" for our talented students and a venue used widely across the school and by the local community. Donate £150 to be included on a "Wall of Fame" or £300 to dedicate a plaque on one of the 302 seats that we will purchase. b) A Bursary fund, to help others to benefit from an education at Windermere School. If 150 people each donate £150, this will fund a day student at the school for two years, or a larger number of students with part-assistance. Most successful independent schools have grown as a result of support from benefactors, and Windermere School is no exception. All major additions have been funded in part or totally from donations - Crampton Hall, classrooms, Jenkins Centre, the all-weather pitch, Westmorland House and the pod classrooms at the preparatory school are examples. The School is not able to achieve all of its educational objectives and ambitions from fee income alone. There is a big difference between "running costs" and "development". The Annual Fund is intended to help bridge that gap in very specific ways and to make things happen to benefit all students. Your help in this is greatly appreciated. By supporting the school you will help to create opportunities for present and future students. Thank you.

The Waterside Charitable Trust raises funds for health, sanitation and youth programmes in Africa. Its main focus is currently in Kenya and in the slums of the city of Kisumu. Kisumu, on the banks of Lake Victoria is Kenyas third largest city. Most of our work is carried out in Obunga, home to 12,000 people who live in shanty buildings made of iron sheet and wood and who earn less than $1 a day. Toilets in the area are simple pit latrines that feed into the dirty river that runs through Obunga, helping spread disease. Thusfar we have built one toilet block, a community centre and have helped numerous small businesses in an effort to raise the standard of living. We are currently constructing a youth centre modeled on that of one of our partner organisations, The Hunslet Club in Leeds.

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.Repatriation Services Trust (REST)On May 5th 2017 our lives were shattered when we received the devastating news that our son Tom had been killed in Dubai. This traumatic situation was exacerbated by the complex and costly process that we had to follow in order to bring our son home. Our experiences instilled in us a desire to help others who found themselves in similar situations and inspired us to set-up the Repatriation Services Trust. REST aims to help those who have lost a loved one overseas by providing advice, support and, where appropriate, funding. The fundraising events run by the REST trustees and supporters, and the donations made by businesses and individuals, enable us to cover the costs incurred in offering these services and supporting other families. Repatriation. That morning we flew to Dubai to see Tom and to bring him back to Wales. Knowing Tom had travel insurance with Lloyds we rang them to arrange the repatriation payment. They wouldn’t assist us unless we could produce an English death certificate. This, of course, in an Arabic country wasn’t possible, even though the local security officer who assisted us spoke to them and verified our position. We then contacted the British Embassy in the UK. They emailed a document listing our options, Tom being dealt with in Dubai or Repatriation to Wales. Obviously, Repatriation was the only option we’d consider. From a list of companies we chose one with a local agent and contacted him. The total cost would have to be met immediately. We were now completely on our own with no support from the travel insurance company, in a foreign land. We were lucky enough to be able to pay the bill from our savings to prevent any delay. We just needed Tom home with all the people who love him. We flew home on the third day bringing Tom with us.REST will provide advice, support and help towards funding for people who lose a loved one in a foreign country. Caroline's Rainbow Foundation is a registered UK charity working to raise awareness of the importance of safe travel to young people, whether they are going abroad for independent travel, gap year placements, organised tours or simply thinking about visiting a different country. CRF was founded after the tragic death of Caroline Stuttle in 2002 in Bundaberg, Australia whilst travelling on her gap year. Aimed at young travellers, CRF works with the education sector, The Foreign Office and other organisations, trusts and charities to provide easily accessible and helpful information about safe travel. In particular the charity provides information about personal safety abroad and encourages young people to recognise and prioritise life’s values wherever they may be in the world. Caroline’s Rainbow Foundation is involved with lots of exciting current projects to raise awareness of travel safety to our next generation of travellers. Travel Safety App 2012 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary, to keep up with the busy lives of travellers we are creating a Travel Safety Awareness App for iPhone and Android hand held devices. The App will be available free to download and use. The Travel Safety Awareness App will offer specific travel and safety information for destinations around the globe. Giving travel safety tips, information about the country or city, highlights and attractions, useful and emergency phone numbers, helpful website links that travellers might need, local and annual events in the area, places to go and avoid, season to travel, interactive maps, current population, ethnic groups and languages spoken, Local news, political situation and currency exchange rates. The App will also have a GPS locator so travellers movements can be tracked and location known in case of emergencies. Travel Safety Awareness App - Click Here for more details. Education in Schools An important part of CRF’s work is to provide educational materials to young people and support teachers in raising awareness about travelling safely. Our Presentations in Schools Program offers free talks to Schools, Colleges and Universities. The program is run by Caroline’s brother, Richard Stuttle, who has travelled extensively himself and has completed a tutor training course organised by The Suzy Lamplugh Trust to become a tutor trainer. Richard then tailored a course to educate young people about travelling and foreign cultures. Sally Baker, Rebecca Downes and Ben Fogerty who are all experienced travellers are also fully trained to give presentations to Schools, Colleges and Universities about safety for gap year travellers. They all have a wide knowledge of different countries and cultures and are delighted to share their stories and experiences to others considering a gap year. Click Here for more details.
