SACCR is an annual cycle ride supporting local (Hertfordshire) and international charities. Started in 1995 the event regularly attracts over 1000 riders and has raised over £800K . Organised by the St Albans Rotary clubs, it's a fun day out for everyone with 100% of donations going to charity

Loanhead Community Learning Centre promotes educational, social welfare, recreational opportunities for families, young people, children within Loanhead and surrounding villages. The organisation also supports/maximises the role of volunteers in the work of the centre, proactively ensures marginalised groups (disabled people, people on low income, lone parent families) have priority access to the centre and its services. The centre facilitates: Parents'n'Tots sessions including mini Parental Early Education Partnership, promoting children's learning through play, providing a venue for parent/carers to build on social skills; Weight2Go sessions promoting healthy living/weight monitoring/measurement; Provides the Loanhead venue for the SureStart initiative which supports families; hosts WednesdayClub, which caters for adults with learning difficulties, promoting social skills/learning opportunities; Two senior adult social groups which promote social inclusion by providing skills development, games, lunch to senior citizens and those with mental/physical difficulties; Supports Youth Clubs that cater for children aged between 5-16yrs; Two children's dance groups, facilitates the Community Nursery, After School Club, Breakfast Club, Saturday Club, Holiday Club providing high quality play opportunities and childcare; Community garden, the most recent addition to the services, with 2 part-time project leaders who help adults/juniors volunteer in the garden
