Thank you very much for taking a look at our page, we hope we have inspired you to support us in improving maternity services in Hoima, Uganda. If you would like to see more of what we have achieved or are planning, please follow the links below. Thank you.  MAMA is a midwifery led organisation based in Hoima, Uganda with Ugandan and U.K. midwives working towards improving maternal and neonatal outcomes in remote areas of Hoima. Mothers often have difficulty accessing care from a skilled birth attendant during pregnancy and childbirth in difficult to access villages.Through outreaches and our static clinic MAMA is able to implement WHO and the SDG guidelines and recommendations. We screen, diagnose and treat HIV, malaria and syphilis early and appropriately, ensuring the mother is in the best possible health to deliver her baby and look after her family. We offer regular maternity services which include a robust referral system, antenatal care, delivery, immunisation, family planning and health education to the mothers and their famillies, thus striving to reduce health inequalities in the Hoima District. By meeting mothers regularly we are able to build a rapport with many of the women and can build a relationship of trust. We identify high risk mothers, advise them the safest place to deliver their baby, and offer them a bed in one of our waiting homes while they wait for delivery.  Charity No: 1173745 Find out more Website Please click here to visit our website Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MAMAUganda Twitter https://twitter.com/mamauganda YouTube https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCHa_-BhwVj_hrRf23Z0aVQA

Tower Hamlets EBP (UK, 1040962) Browse events

YTD Raised: £4,243.69

Tower Hamlets EBP is an education charity working with disadvantaged children aged 5 -19 to help tackle the damaging effects of growing up in poverty. Supported by volunteers, we deliver a range of programmes in schools which help young people to raise their levels of achievement and aspiration and gain relevant employability skills.  Poverty affects one in four children in the UK today. When children grow up in hardship, they miss out – and so do the rest of us. They miss out on the things most children take for granted: warm clothes, school trips, having friends over for tea, books in the house... to name but a few. They underachieve at school and earn less as adults. If no one in your family has ever worked, who will give you good advice and help you access the right opportunities? Our programmes change all that. We create a level playing field for young people by working with businesses and their employees to break down barriers, share knowledge and skills and equip young people to reach for the stars. Educational attainment and employment are two sure-fire ways out of poverty and the school to work transition is a pivotal moment in this. Help us to make sure that all young people, regardless of background, can learn more, do more and become more. Please donate to support our cause. Let's make sure that no one gets left behind.  Charity No: 1040962 Find out more Website https://thebp.org Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TowerHamletsEBP/ Twitter https://twitter.com/TowerHamletsEBP
