Ewen’s Room is a mental health and wellbeing charity based in the West Highlands of Scotland. We are passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing and working to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health issues. We run peer support drop-ins sessions (currently on zoom) and we also provide resources and workshops online to help people manage their wellbeing. Our free helpline and textline support anyone who needs someone to talk to, and, and we also have a telephone befriending service. For young people in our local area, our Education Officer provides mental health awareness lessons in schools, and we offer free access to counselling for those up to the age of 25. Wirral began in November 2011, we are a volunteer led organisation, with nearly 200 individuals giving their time to support local people in the community. We are affiliated to the Trussell Trust, a Christian charity committed to community action against poverty and marginalisation. We meet the needs of all, regardless of faith or no faith, gender and race. The provision of food to individuals and families provides tangible support. We aim to provide tinned food that as far as possible offers a balanced diet that is geared towards the number of adults and children in the family. We seek the support of the local community, both individuals and business. In addition to weekly church food collections we hold regular supermarket collections. We hold monthly store collections at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons. We also involve local schools, who donate food at Christmas and Harvest. Our aim is to involve as many people as possible; we regularly visit churches, church groups and schools promoting the work of the Foodbank.

Knowing first hand the difficulties her family faced in accessing emotional support and also the need for it she decided to set up Harry's Pals. Harry's Pals offer respite breaks to families so that they can take some time out and have something to look forward to. As well as that Harry's Pals offer bespoke counselling or therapy services that are right for families so that they can access the support that they need to improve their mental health and find coping mechanisms for the future. Harry's Pals are also passionate about trying to inspire change by using past experiences to inspire change for disabled people and their careers. An example of a very successful campaign being Harry's Pledge.. a nationwide social housing commitment to do more to support carers and disabled people living and working in social housing. All money raised for Harry's Pals goes on to make such a difference to families that are facing every parents worst nightmare. Thank you for your support.
