YTD Raised: £7,674.09

Newly formed in 2014, Friends of Ipswich Town FC has been created with the objective of bringing the Club closer to the local community by providing facilities and offering sport related activities to local residents. By interacting with the local district, our vision is that we will enhance and promote inclusion, education, health, and sport, with the subsequent intention of improving the wellbeing of not only the Ipswich Town FC fanbase, but also the local community as a whole. We aim to build on the already active presence that the Club has in the community, by using the ‘Power of Football’ to influence the lives of people in the Ipswich and surrounding area. As a charitable company, Friends of Ipswich Town FC is governed by a select group of trustees, all of whom have an interest in the local community. We are targeting steady year on year growth, but with the principle aim of keeping the needs of the community at the heart of everything we do. Furthermore, we will endeavour to consistently make all our activities available to people of all ages, from all backgrounds and from all abilities. Our work will be divided into four areas to reflect our vision of providing educational, sporting, social and healthy lifestyle opportunities to the local community. These four areas are health, sports development, social inclusion and education. The plan outlines the key actions within each area that we believe will allow us to achieve our vision, as well as the human and financial resources that will be required.

YTD Raised: £7,663.35

Our vision is to connect young people with even younger people to strengthen London’s communities. The Kids Network provides a sustainable, scalable, and effective solution to the twin problems of poverty and isolation by bringing an innovative approach to the volunteering sector.London’s transient nature and gentrification means that we have young, compassionate professionals living side by side with some of London’s most vulnerable children. The Kids Network is a mentoring charity that connects these two groups for positive social change.  The Kids Network works with disadvantaged children aged 8-11 before they transition into secondary school. We do this by providing them with a volunteer mentor who works with them on a one to one weekly basis across a full year. The sessions are child led and goal orientated, designed to develop crucial social emotional capabilities. Our approach is preventative and impactful to give the child the best chance to fulfil their potential. We also provide a first class volunteering experience for young professionals who feel disconnected with their communities. The Kids Network provides extensive training, a peer network and social activities to support each other in their roles as mentors. Please support our cause - there are so many children who would really benefit from our help.   Charity No: 1167178 Find out more Website Please click here to visit our website Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thekidsnetworkLDN/ Twitter https://twitter.com/the_kidsnetwork YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTc7csyqgHVX1Cu0c2OP_9A

Beacon Counselling (UK, 1109545) Browse events

YTD Raised: £7,653.97

Beacon Counselling exists to improve the lives of adults, young people, and children who experience mental and emotional distress. To achieve this aim we provide a range of counselling and related services across the borough of Stockport and beyond. We work from GP practices and community centres, schools and pupil referral units, other charities and our own base in Stockport. This flexibility means we can respond to people where and when they need us, and we support around 1500 people each year via a range of targeted services. The work we do is effective. We know it is because the people we support tell us, and the monitoring forms we use show significant improvements. Over 85% of the people who make use of Beacon show an improvement, and the main benefits people experience are reductions in the levels of depression and anxiety, increase in the levels of well-being, confidence and self-esteem, and improvements in relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Above all, what people tell us is they have gained the skills and resilience which means they don't think they will need our help again. A team of over 60 counsellors - mostly volunteers - provide all our services, and the quality of their work is overseen by a team of 11 casework supervisors and the general manager. A team of part-time appointments administrators support counsellors by making and rearranging all appointments on our adults service. Beacon has a board of 7 trustees, who ensure the overall quality of its services. The different Beacon makes in people's lives, coupled with the quality of services and excellent value for money, was recognised in 2012 with Beacon winning a Glaxo-SmithKline IMPACT award.
