After the recently completed circumnavigation of Britain, the end goal of this first stage of the project may have been the sailing trip, but the trip itself is the prize. The real focus of the project is the life-skills that must be acquired to get to this point. It is these life-skills that are so important in broadening the opportunities of these young people as they move forward in life.

Contact is Northern Ireland’s Leading Voluntary organisation for the provision of counselling and support to young people and adults across Northern Ireland. Contact Counselling was established as a regional NI Charity in 1977 in response to a growing recognition that young people’s complex, emotional, relationship and mental health needs were neglected by statutory education and health provision. We provide the regional 24/7 crises helpline 'Lifeline' along with face to face counselling and wraparound services aimed at preventing suicide and self harm, across the age spectrum. Contact's counselling portfolio is grounded within an ethical framework prioritising social justice, clinical excellence and community development principles. Contact aim to reach out and empower those in crisis, through professional counselling support, assessing risk, enhancing resilience and providing support to assist children, young people and adults to cope with adversity. We offer specialist resources and experience in working with the most marginalised and 'at risk' individuals. We employ therapists providing counselling, art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, telephone counselling, information and support and we offer professional guidance and support to their parents and carers. Our Specialist Team of Creative Therapists offer art, drama and music therapy to assist children and young people or vulnerable adults with expressing their feelings where talking therapies are not feasible or appropriate. Contact have 55 Clinical Placements who commit voluntary hours to the organization. To facilitate the training and development of new counsellors, Contact coordinate a Clinical Placement Programme whereby trainee Counsellors are offered an opportunity to gain their required practice experience through face to face clinically contracted client hours with Contact.

The Foundations mission is to encourage and support educational projects in Africa, especially those requiring architectural input. It also aims to promote community involvement, and the use of African expertise and technologies in Africa’s educational and architectural development. The memorial fund was set up in January 2005, following the death of Richard Feilden, senior partner of Feilden Clegg Bradley and indefatigable champion of design quality and social sustainability within the field of architecture. The Foundation was launched at Richards memorial in September 2005. We are a registered charity (our charity registration number is: 1113216). We are currently working on a secondary school in Uganda with PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) and assessing potential projects in Africa. The trustees are Tish Feilden, Peter Clegg, Keith Bradley, James Wetz and Tim Joss.

SportsAid supports the sports stars of tomorrow today - helping the next generation of British sporting talent to succeed. For over 30 years, SportsAid has supported talented young sports people when they need it the most - at the start of their journey to international success. SportsAid is the first organisation to recognise their talent, often when Mum and Dad are their only sponsors. Young athletes, both able-bodied and those with a disability, are nominated to SportsAid by their sport’s national governing body (NGB). This ensures that the right athletes are helped at the right time and in the right way. It is a proven and established process that makes a genuine difference. At the 2012 Olympics, SportsAid alumni won 20 of the 29 Gold medals achieved by Team GB athletes, including 5 of the 7 'Yorkshire' Gold medals.  In Yorkshire in 2011-12, SportsAid supported over 200 of the region's best emerging athletes with over £150k of funding.

We are Friends of Longstone School. A group of parents, teachers, friends and members of the local community who support our village school. We are responsible for the majority of the fundraising in the school, which we use to help support the school in trying to offer our children the best standard of education that we can. Our largest task at the moment is to help fundraise for some building work in the school, which will improve our entrance hall, some of our classrooms and outside areas, and provide some desperatly needed office space. We have named this, very imaginatively, as the 'The Building project'!

A well known charity in Essex who is also one of the largest advocacy providers. We also support Health Groups for Men and Women and have vibrant Self Advocacy Groups across the region empowering people to make choices in all aspects of their life. Sports groups are provided and are well attended and loved by all. We also offer support to carers. Our aim is to be working in partnership with other agencies to build stronger commuinities. Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights represent, their interests and obtain services they need. We are a small charity which heavily relies on funding from statutory agencies and any dononation to our charity makes a huge difference.
