West Grimsby Scouts is where young people from our area can make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. Every week we give young people aged 4-14 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life. Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your young person’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

The object of the Bansang Hospital Appeal is to provide material, financial and in-kind support to Bansang Hospital and the people of the surrounding area. The projects focus area is the Upper River Division of The Gambia, West Africa. The hospital serves 500,000 people, many of whom travel from as far as Mali, Guinea and Senegal. The Bansang Hospital Appeal assists through the ongoing provision of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, humanitarian aid, along with the sponsorship of staff and volunteers from the UK. The appeal has recently constructed a new 80 bed children’s unit, 48 bed female ward and the hospitals own maintenance team have constructed an obstetric theatre. Retention of staff is an urgent requirement and the key to the ongoing success of the hospital. We are addressing this urgent need in phases, with the current capital expenditure projects focussing upon the provision of decent staff accommodation. To this end, we have refurbished 27 staff units, along with the complete renovation of the old colonial house that sits on the hospital land. The latter facility now provides bedsitting and guest rooms for staff and visiting volunteers, as well as conferencing facilities for visiting professionals. The charity places a keen emphasis upon long-term project sustainability.

The charity raises funds in the UK and NI to support the work carried out by Pastor Jacob and his team in India. India Hope is a Christian based organisation, and the activity of the charity is to look after over 6,000 orphans and needy children by providing them with a home to live in, food and an education. Many of our orphan children progress their education with vocational training in our Technical and Nursing schools and bible colleges. The charity also looks after 26 leper colonies providing a much-needed mobile medical clinic and medical assistance and food for the most vulnerable. We raise funds continually to enable us to install water wells in rural villages so there is clear running water in the village for everyone.

We all think they deserve better after going through the traumatic experience of war in far off lands, what they have been through for the country they love, to be forgotten and homelessness is a national disgrace. That we intend to put right for as many as we can The charitys objects are the relief of charitable need of homeless ex-service personnel, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of clothing, food and rehabilitation, including advice on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, alcoholism, drug abuse, housing and employment. Why not just give the price of a pint if we met in a pub you would not think twice about buying me a pint would you, it all helps.There is no one within Soldiers off the street (S.O.T.S) receiving any wage whatsoever. 100% of all donations goes into the running of S.O.T.S and helping the homeless ex service personnel. Thank you from all those that cannot thank you themselves!

Parents and carers are welcome too: life can also be quite lonely and isolated for them, so we are here to let them know they are supported and have people who care about them.We are a Stay Safe Centre, where people feeling vulnerable in the community can come and be supported as well as being third party ‘Hate crime & Mate crime’ centre. We can show the vulnerable that there are people who are willing to listen and help.
