The Bervie Play Parks Committee was set up with the aim of raising money to improve and expand upon the existing, limited, playground facilities in Inverbervie. We are a registered charity (SCO42985). Our strategy has been to involve the whole community in our fund raising activities so that everyone feels they have a stake in the completed project. Our emphasis has been upon family friendly events; monthly roller discos, Easter trails, Halloween parties and a Jubilee street party. We have organised a comprehensive program of children’s holiday events and in addition, we have compiled a CD showcasing local music. The Burgh Hall has been turned in to a cinema, showcasing the latest films. We persuaded fifty people to abseil off the North Water Bridge in Montrose. We have brought a wide variety of workshops and activities to the village, with card crafting, cave exploring, circus training and everything in between. We want to make sure the journey is as much fun as reaching the destination! Our first priority is to completely revamp the Church Street play park, turning it into a fully refurbished, inclusive play space which will be renamed "The Cutty Park". We'll soon have plans to put on public display and these will give a sense of the transformation. To date, we have raised £16,047.19, and for the completion of this park, we need to raise approximately £80,000. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have already received and look forward to having lots of fun raising the rest. We are committed to providing excellent play facilities for our children, to improve their health and well-being, and to make Inverbervie and even better place to live! The purposes of the Charity are for the advancement of health and improvement in the quality of lives for children and young people with “autism with severe learning difficulties". The charity is a memorial to Edward Newell who died on 21 June 2010. Edward’s strength of character, sense of humour and incredible spirit has left a hole in the hearts of his family and those that knew him. Our love for Edward now finds its voice and inspiration in the formation of a permanent charity whose core aim is to help children and young adults who, like Edward, are diagnosed with ASLD. We also aim to provide support to the families who are struggling to cope with the daily realities of caring for someone with this condition. Please note that the charity will be entirely for the public benefit; costs relating to Edward’s own memorial to commemorate his life do not form part of the charity. HMR&C Charities have accepted The Edward Newell Memorial as a charity for tax purposes under their reference XT26052. Payments received can be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme, the 25% gift aid. The HMR&C Model Declarations for fit and proper persons acting as charity trustees are in place. The Trustees do not expect to incur any administrative charges at this stage, all work being carried on a voluntary basis. We provide healthcare to third world remote rural communities that have very limited or no access to health care by using modern technology and innovation. Remote rural people make long & arduous journeys to medical centres but are now treated in their homes using community health workers (CHW) travelling to the patient and linking with the doctors in their clinics, and hospitals via tele-medicine technology. The CHWs carry essential drugs and are trained in dispensing with advice from the doctors. The doctors talk directly with patients and the CHWs in real time using the tele-medicine technology. The Patient’s condition and clinical observations are transmitted to the doctor through tele-medicine and recording apps. The Patient’s medical details are available to the doctor and CHW via an app on their hand held tablet and a remote Electronic Medical Records Database.Patients who need escalated treatment are evacuated to hospital in the same ambulance that the CHWs use to attend the call. All treatments provided by us including drugs are free to patients who cannot fund their treatment.
