(UK, 1099225) Browse eventsThe Rumic Foundation Trust was founded in 1993 by June and Roger Chapman.Their aim was to create mobility for young people in Cumbria. Today, we promote financial assistance to disadvantaged, sick or disabled young persons in the Furness and South Lakeland/ Copeland area of Cumbria to improve their health, to provide medical assistance and to further their education and employment training. Therefore, we co-operate with local charities and voluntary bodies in order to recover funds and donations to contribute a benefit to our young community. With our 10th anniversary we not only want to thank the people who supported us immensely throughout the years but we also intend to raise more awareness of our work. We aim to fundraise enough money to buy a new bus for our fleet so that we are able to expand our services and support more young people with their mobility, their school education and they lives. So be part of it!

Through a few volunteers we deliver an exciting programme, tirelessly fundraising to keep this group going. On 17th April 2011 York Gibson will be running the London Marathon in aid of the 197th. Amongst other things it is hoped that sufficient funds can be raised to help install proper heating in the Scout hut so the children don't keep getting frostbite in the winter months. Come on, ask your family and friends to donate and help us reach our £1000 target!

Founded by parents of a daughter with cerebral palsy, K4K became a registered charity in October 2005. The charity has no paid staff and relies entirely upon its sponsors, partners and supporters in order to fulfil its objectives. We focus on projects that promote and advance the wellbeing of children and young people, in particular those who are disabled and disadvantaged. We provide inclusive educational and recreational facilities for disabled children in addition to campaigning for equality of access and opportunity for all. We provide information, support and assistance to those who care for disabled children, and encourage parents to work together for the benefit of not only their own children, but also for the wider community.

Since Muslim Care’s modest beginnings, we have established a number of schools and healthcare facilities among communities in Kenya, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Bangladesh. Many of these projects have been carried out in co-operation with other reputable charities with similar aims. Sectors of Work: Access to Education Our projects are mainly education-focused and are aimed at both adults and children. Our remit includes building and equipping schools and teacher training. Healthcare Our programmes have included building, equipping and running healthcare centres, sponsoring midwives & birth attendants, sponsoring ambulances to service remote areas and raising money for charitable organisations already working in this sector. Water and sanitation facilities Our projects include digging wells and building water supply systems. Emergency Relief We work hand in hand with other charities to provide emergency relief to humanitarian disasters. We also raise funds for long-term development in these areas. Mentoring and Befriending We have launched local initiatives, working with and befriending young Muslims in London, who fall in the ‘at risk’ and ‘socially excluded’ categories. We also work with offenders and ex-offenders, with the support of Prison Chaplains & Imams.
