Army Families Federation (UK, 1176393) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

The Army Families Federation (AFF) is the independent voice of Army families and works hard to improve the quality of life for Army families around the world on any aspect that is affected by the Army lifestyle. AFF is independent of the Army and offers confidential advice. We will deal with your enquiry without revealing your identity. AFF is often pivotal in achieving improvements for Army families such as changes to Government and military policy and changes to the delivery of how things are provided for families. AFF does not do this by itself; our role is to highlight problems to the chain of command or service providers, and to work with them and other agencies to improve the support they provide to Service families. AFF also provides a signposting service to help you find the right person to speak to, as well as providing useful information for Army families through its website and magazine, Army&You.

Rokesly Schools PSA (UK, 1012712) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Both schools have ambitious development plans to which the PSA wouldlike to contribute. In the infant school, our aim is to extend the canopies outside thereception classes (which were co-funded by the PSA) along both the year one and yeartwo classes. For the junior school, the goal is to refurbish the round hall. The hall sits atthe heart of the school and is a wonderfully unique feature that desperately needsupdating. Money raised by the PSA has an incredibly positive impact on our children’s schoolexperience. From subsidising a wide range of clubs for both schools to giving every Year4 child the chance to learn an instrument; from funding a Christmas panto for the infantchildren to providing a monthly library budget for junior school children to choose newbooks; and from purchasing tablets and microscopes to helping fund major projects suchas the wildlife garden, the Year 1 playground and the quiet area in the junior schoolplayground, the impact of everyone’s fundraising efforts is clearly evident throughout bothschools. So, if you'd like to contribute, we've made it really easy for you, or another family member, to make a donation to the schools. And, because we're registered for GiftAid we can potentially add a further 25% to your donation!! Thank you for your support in helping us make a real difference to our children. Charity No: 1012712

The existing playground for our younger children is in need of replacement, and we have a plan in place to provide an outstanding facility that will be enjoyed for years to come. The new area has been designed by Wicksteed Playgrounds, a UK company that has 100 years of experience providing inspirational play spaces that meet the highest safety standards. The new playground will include swings, a roundabout, seesaw, interactive play panels and a dinosaur-themed climbing frame with slide. The equipment will also cater for wheelchair-bound children and sensory areas will help those with autism and learning difficulties. The site of the playground will move next to the village hall, enabling easier wheelchair access and use of our other facilities. The cost of the playground will be around £56,000; to date, we have raised about £49,000. With your support to get us over the line, the playground can become a reality in the first half of 2019. Please get involved with cake sales, sponsored runs and any other ways that you can think of. YTD Raised: £0.00

We provide emergency food parcels to people referred to us through over 50 agencies locally.  We also run a More Than Food project in the longer school holidays called 'The Holiday Shack' where we provide activities and a hot meal for the whole family - this is through referrals from The Childrens' Centre.  All our food is donated by the public but we rely on funding and donations to meet our running costs to enable us to provide this service for those in need in our community.  Over 50 volunteers give around 50 hours a week to serve our community through the foodbank. We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
