Previous visits have highlighted the need for just basic resources in these villages close to Mbale, Eastern Uganda, where poverty is rife. Our mission’s team supports the region where over 50 small churches work together to help their communities. In this deprived region, churches are the facilitators; they help mobilise the health, education and community resources.  Almost half of Uganda’s population is under 15 years of age and, due to AIDS, many live with extended family members who do not have the resources to support them.

Read our candidates' applications, track our public record of donations, and more. chYps children's hospice (UK, 1121561A) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

"They bring the hospice to our home" When a child has a serious condition and may not live into adulthood, families face an extremely difficult time. One of the difficulties is when the child has to leave the comfort, security and proximity of the family home for treatment or respite at a hospital or hospice. So, chYps offers a different approach to palliative and end of life care. Instead of the child coming to the hospice, the hospice comes to them. This allows the child and Mum, Dad, brothers and sisters to stay together. chYps offers a seamless service of care for children and young people, age 0 - 19 years.
