We accept referrals from professionals working with families such as schools, social work, charities, NHS, etc.We work to the same principles to a foodbank and appeal to our communities to donate items to us when they shop. We then fundraise to provide the items not often donated.We rely on the support of our local community to continue supporting our local children and are very grateful for all the support you provide.Our service is unique in that it is dignified and doesn't ask any questions about what income or outgoings people may have, we accept that the referrer has referred because they feel the family would benefit from some assistance. At present there is no cure for Alopecia but HAT tries to build the confidence and self esteem of those going through a traumatic and stressful experience. The youngsters, aged 15-16, live in Salta, Argentina where indigenous peoples make up 85% of the population but only 4% successfully complete higher education. We offer support in a variety of tailored ways which include contributing to the costs associated with their study, pairing them with mentors at the local university, providing workshops in self esteem and offering a quiet place to study. We also work with their families and local government to ensure that a support network is available. In addition we are working with young people in the UK, forging links between the countries and helping them to share experiences and learn from each other. Founded in 2009 we are a young and relatively small charity and as such, your money will go further.
