YTD Raised: £7,971.07A free, confidential, non-judgemental support service for survivors who have experienced any form of rape or sexual abuse at any time. The trauma caused by sexual abuse may not surface for many years after the event. We treat all calls equally sensitively and confidentially, appreciating the courage required to break silence, overcome guilt and threats, and share the events of the past whether they happened days or years ago. WMRSASC provides: A telephone helpline - which offers support and information to survivors, their carers, their supporters and to professionals. Assessment - with a qualified counsellor to identify the most appropriate support. Individual counselling sessions for survivors - this may be short or long term depending on the needs of the individual. Provided by qualified counsellors and counselling students in their final year of placement. All of our counellors have successfully completed our nationally accredited training programme and are supervised by qualified Clinical Supervisors within WMRSASC. Individual counselling for female partners and carers of survivors - (we do offer telephone support to male partners and carers of survivors however due to the nature of the work we do we are unfortunately unable to offer face to face support also). Signposting service - providing information on other appropriate services and options for all, including male survivors. Independendent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) - available to offer emotional, factual and practical support; she can support males and females aged 11 years and over throughout and beyond the legal process should you wish to report the incident to the police, but equally can offer practical support to individuals who choose not to. Email support - We can provide email support to clients who are unable to attend the premises. This can often be the first step to seeking more structured support. External training - WMRSASC can provide training courses in the specialist area of rape and sexual abuse for both voluntary and statutory sectors. WMRSASC is an Open College Network (OCN) accredited centre. Internal training - WMRSASC volunteers must all complete an OCN accredited training programme in supporting rape and sexual abuse survivors. Partnership working - with other professionals, groups and agencies to raise awareness and challenge issues around rape and sexual abuse and their effects on individuals and society, WMRSASC is also able to provide supervision for external agency workers. WMRSASC is the only organisation in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to provide ongoing specialist support to the victims of rape and/or sexual violence. We have operated continuously since 1986 and have a proven track record of delivering high quality, well-used support services and innovating and developing new services. We are here to provide support for change.

YTD Raised: £7,949.09Shropshire Mind was established almost 40 years ago and provides a diverse range of quality services, across the County for the one in four people and their families acknowledged to be affected by mental or emotional distress.We help to bridge the gap between illness and full independence for service users. Some people need support in many areas of their lives, others in just a few, some for long periods of time, others for only a short while.Respect for users, with justice and equality of access to services are part of our vision that everyone has the right to live equally with others and to enjoy a good quality of life. We try to enable service users to play the fullest possible part in the communities in which they live. We work in partnership with clients to ensure their right to make choices is preserved. We are also striving to reduce the debilitation, alienation, stigma and social isolation experienced by vulnerable people living in rural areas. Our work includes group work based at our Shrewsbury premises and also at venues in Ludlow, Whitchurch, Bridgnorth and Market Drayton, with the aim of establishing additional groups across the county. Shropshire Mind has an established and trained volunteer base and a small number of paid staff who run specific projects. The charity has a board of trustees who meet as the Executive Committee and of those trustees there are elected officers – Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

YTD Raised: £7,946.49The Trust has been set up to create a legacy in the memory Alexandra, who, on the 2nd April 2013 was diagnosed with Mastitis Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare, rapidly spreading soft tissue cancer. She passed away on the 16th September 2014 aged just 17. The ethos of our Trust is to support children and young people aged 1 to 24 who have been diagnosed with Cancer. The support given to Alexandra during her illness by the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey was without fault. We the Trust and her many friends are committed to raising as much money as possible to help other children in similar circumstances. Alexandra was able to benefit from a number of small charities. A personal shopper day at Top Shop. She was so excited when she came home explaining her day. She was able to have a real hair wig to feel 'normal' for her school prom and was so proud of the MAC laptop she was given. Alexandra requested it because she had every intention, when she recovered, of studying photography as an A level. These donations made her happy and gave her something positive to focus on, a distraction which helped her cope mentally with the enduring treatment. This is the aim of our Trust, to raise ‘Smile Money’. We want to give something to young people being treated for cancer . Maybe it will be another Mac Laptop or a weekend away for the family. We want to gift a memory.

We want to reduce suffering for children who receive the devastating diagnosis of a brain tumour. Our three main aims are: 1) To support children suffering from brain tumours (especially rare/unusual presentations) and their families, through; -information and advocacy, including possible funding of a specialist nurse advocate role -local support groups -facilitating better access to existing services and pushing for improvement of services where necessary -basic financial support (e.g. hospital associated costs, car parking, food, emergency accommodation etc) 2) To support and fund research into brain cancer and potential treatments through grants to research teams and support of umbrella organisations, such as Brain Tumour Research 3) To raise awareness of the disease and it's debilitating effects and to campaign for improvements in the current standard of care and support available, as well as for more research/funding for research
