(UK, 285472) Browse eventsWe are a local branch of RSPCA helping animals in East London. We cover the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. We work with volunteers and animal welfare professionals to Rescue, Protect, Rehabilitate and Rehome animals that need help and care. We work with RSPCA’s Inspectorate in their work for mistreated and abandoned animals, including pets whose owners are unable to take care of the animals. This in return also relieve the distress the pet owners, who have to give up their pets due to changes in their personal circumstances such as ill health or financial difficulties. As part of the RSPCA network, we provide education, information and advice to the members of the public to help to improve and ensure the welfare and care for the animals in our areas. We help to reduce the incidence of abandonment and cruelty through education and support to the public. Animal welfare is our priority. Animals in our care receive veterinary treatment, vaccination, neutering, micro chipping and are assessed for renominates. This programme of care helps to prevent the spread of diseases and to ensure the wellbeing of the animals. We do not receive Government funding. None of our work can happen without the support of our generous donors, the members of our local branch, and our committed volunteers. If you are interested in finding out more about our work and to get involved, please do get in touch. Or simply sign up as the member of our branch, we will keep you posted and get you involved from time to time.

They work with young people age 15-19 in schools, university students through their summer programmes, and communities offering trainings and sessions for adults. Young Israeli and Palestinian peace activists are brought in as speakers to share their personal experience of living through conflict, enabling young people to see those affected as fellow human beings, helping them to understand and embrace the complexity of the problem, and empowering them towards seeking solutions.

Supporting Individuals We are dedicated to supporting individuals with mental ill health, learning disabilities, autism and dementia. We support over 1,500 adults and children in over 80 different locations and have a particular expertise in working with the most complex needs, where individuals face unique challenges to community living. We are growing in response to the high demand for our services and aim to expand to support 3000 individuals by 2025. Praxis Care provides services across a broad spectrum of service user needs. We provide support and accommodation approaches, which are shaped around the needs and preferences of the individual and reflects how they want to live their lives. We are acutely aware that getting the support and accommodation mix right for the individual is not an option but an essential foundation for sustained success. At all levels of need we seek to identify the best solution available, with the service user and others who are important to them. This includes type and location of accommodation, who they live with and the support they need from our staff. We believe that complex needs should not prevent someone from having the opportunity of community living.
