(UK, SC047932) Browse eventsThank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. We are a newly formed Charity called the Loch Long Jetty Association run solely by volunteers and our aim is to install a picturesque and environmentally friendly floating pontoon to allow safe access to and from Loch Long in the Arrochar region. We will also install two moorings for visiting craft. When the pontoon is installed we intend to hold an annual triathlon to build on the success of the local Arrochar 10k now in it's third year. We will facilitate other recreational events. We are currently fundraising for this pontoon and we would appreciate any donation. This Charity arose from a project started by the Arrochar, Tarbet & Ardlui Community Council (CC). The CC had concerns about the state of our three villages and the lack of any recent investment in our infrastructure. Loch Long is a beautiful asset but is hugely under-utilised as there is no safe pedestrian access to the Loch in Arrochar. The Charity was formed to take this project forward. We are a non-profit making organisation run by a small group of volunteers. Our initial aim is to install a pontoon and moorings to facilitate recreational activity. We want to help stimulate the local economy which has been in progressive decline due to rural isolation. Please donate to support our cause. Charity No: SC047932
(UK, 1144905) Browse eventsSince January 2010, The Bush Homeopaths have been running biannual free mobile homeopathic clinics in The Gambia. The Bush Homeopaths are a group of UK based qualified homeopaths who are assisting a number of Gambian communities to improve their health through homeopathic treatment. We envision a future in which homeopathy will be recognised as an integral part of the Gambian healthcare system. The Bush Homeopaths' foremost objective is the relief and prevention of disease whilst working in co-operation with local communities. Our vision encompasses making homeopathy available to all communities as an affordable and valid form of health treatment. Our aim is to lay down a permanent base where homeopaths can spend longer periods of time in a cost effective manner. This would give us the opportunity to train local people and give them more consistent support. One of the villages has donated a plot of land for us to build a clinic, so convinced they are that homeopathy is appropriate and efficacious for them. We have raised enough funds to fence this land in and bring in a water supply. Our mission is, with your help, to build and furnish a clinic where we can not only treat more people but also train local Gambians to become qualified homeopaths and eventually run their own clinics.

We raise money to support musicals produced and performed by adults with serious learning difficulties in Islington. We work with the local authority and try to provide the things the local authority can't pay for - a good theatre, proper musical back-up, taxis/mini buses home, good costumes, flowers for the actors, that sort of thing. The performances are heartwarming. None of the participants can read, some can't speak much or walk, but they can move and dance and dress up, and enjoy the limelight. Access to the arts is developmentally helpful, but it is also a human right, and we try to promote that access.
