Far from being dead and remote, the music and texts of the Baroque help us in the 21st century to ponder the concerns of human nature in an emotionally truthful way. Coming to us from an age before technical means of communication and enhancement of sound were available, the music’s impact is colourful, sophisticated and visceral. The energy that that the Baroque demands of its performers, is La Nuova Musica’s most potent tool in striving to move audiences. Their repertoire reflects the chief forms of the period - opera and choral. La Nuova Musica’s work covers concerts, performance of opera, (either fully or semi-staged), and recording projects in collaboration with the world’s foremost ‘period performance practice’ recording company - harmonia mundi USA. There is a wealth of stunning and yet unheard repertoire to be explored and outstanding young talent to be introduced to audiences in the UK and abroad. (UK, 1169854) Browse eventsEmmanuel Church is an evangelical church serving the community of Leftwich and its surrounding areas. We have been on our current site in Leftwich for nearly 40 years. Over that time, we have established strong links with the surrounding community, sharing the Good News of God's love for us through Jesus and serving in practical ways through a variety of ministries and activities. In recent years, however, the condition and constraints of our current building have prompted us to seek and find a new, improved site just a short distance from our current one. This will enable us to share our Christian faith and serve our community more effectively. Our vision is that our new venue will be a focal point for the neighbourhood - a place where people can meet in a pleasant, safe and secure environment. We also hope to provide facilities that can be used by the community and provide practical support for local needs.Above all our desire is that our new church will be a place where people come to experience the life-changing love of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We are excited to announce that our plans have received planning permission.Any gift you make towards this vision will be gratefully received.
