(UK, 1192645) In 2013 my husband and I moved to a small holding in Gower with a view to enjoying a relaxing retirement by the sea with a few of our own horses, dogs and cats. Very soon after moving here it became apparent that Gower needed an animal Sanctuary Our objective is to provide a Sanctuary and safe haven for animals who have been subject to mistreatment, abandonment, cruelty ,or those who are injured,; and to raise the necessary funds for the support and rehabilitation of such animals. Since then we have rescued over 300 ponies many from local Commons, who would otherwise not have survived due to their emaciated condition and in some cases injuries from road accidents . We have also taken in orphaned lambs and homeless dogs. This expansion meant we needed to employ staff and we now have 3 part time staff and a host of hard working and enthusiastic volunteers. In addition to our 20 acres we rent over 100 acres of grazing land from local farmers. We have received many ponies from the RSPCA ,Trading Standards and the Police. Once we have restored these animals to good health whenever possible we try to rehabilitate and redo me some of them, For the first 2 years we were entirely self funding but due to the increasing number of animals needing care we now hold regular Open Days and use Just Giving as a fundraising platform In December this year (2020) we became a Registered Charity

We also work closely with other organisations such as the Air Training Corps Cadets and Holidays for Hero's to collect monies for the benefit of our respective memberships. We believe that our organisations activities benefits the general public in general by keeping alive the need to engender a feeling of pride and recognition of the passed sacrifice by people who have served our country. And also to encourage the present day youth to immolate that same sense of community spirit to assist others and to strive for progress and understanding of the needs of others.

We are trying to raise funds for an outdoor area for the children at the school; the one that has been in place had to be taken down after 25+ years. Many of the children do not have access to a garden and we want everyone to have a free space to play.
