At Princethorpe, our aim is simple; to treat every pupil as an individual, supporting them as they grow into mature, confident, resilient and well-rounded young people with a strong set of moral values to guide them through adult life. The College is renowned for the way in which it looks after its pupils and is characterised by its strong Christian ethos, which underpins everything we do. We have established a Development Office to enable the provision of more bursaries to deserving pupils, to update our facilities, and to meet our strategic development plans. We believe that every child with the potential and passion to benefit from a Princethorpe education should be given the opportunity to learn, grow and develop here. With your help, we can help more children to benefit from this special education.

Yarl's Wood is an Immigration Removal Centre in North Bedfordshire, which detains women and families. The Befrienders, as an independent charity based in Bedford, provides much-needed support to anyone held in Yarl's Wood who requests it. Through the simple act of visiting and listening, we try to restore self-esteem and reaffirm a basic sense of human dignity. Being held at Yarl’s Wood can be a traumatic experience, especially as detainees do not know how long they are likely to stay there, or whether they will be eventually released or returned to their country of origin. As well as offering emotional support, we also try to give practical help where we can. Many of those leaving Yarl’s Wood will be returning to places where they face immediate danger, or countries they left long ago. They often return to great uncertainty, sometimes with little more than the clothes on their backs. We have a small destitution fund to support people leaving Yarl’s Wood and the money raised through your donations will be used to help replenish this vital source of help. If you know of anyone in Yarl's Wood who is in need of befriending support, please contact us using the tab on the left. Thank you very much for your generosity.
For nearly 20 years, And Albert Foundation has been working with villages along one of the old slave routes through Ghana, Burkina Faso and into the Sahara desert. The Foundation is built on the principles of respect, recognition, restoration and redemption. Our approach is a continuous process of problem solving to benefit the whole community in each of the villages where we work. Our many projects include providing clean water, planting indigenous trees, establishing alternative community education centres, building playgrounds and creating trade routes for the sale of traditional arts and crafts. Through our ‘Trading Roots’ brand, ethically traded goods from these villages are distributed for sale in the UK. Assisting in the development of consistent commercial markets helps village communities to believe again in their creative and cultural heritage.

(UK, 526622) Browse eventsThe vision of our earliest benefactors, Henry Bury and Roger Kay, was to found a school that would educate young people to the highest possible standard; over 400 years later we continue to uphold their legacy of excellence in education. Our students leave us as mature, responsible, confident and well balanced young adults. They embrace life with a positive attitude and a quest for knowledge which has been instilled in them at BGS. They will make a difference in the world. We must continue to raise funds for capital projects if we are to provide our students with the facilities and resources they need in an ever-changing world. At the same time, we strive to increase bursary funding to provide assistance to bright children whose parents are unable to afford our fees. The children who receive bursaries are often amongst our highest achievers; they deserve the life-enhancing opportunity of a BGS education. We rely upon the help of our community. We ask you to give as you are able to ensure our future success and guarantee that others may benefit from the type of education you received. We thank you warmly for your kind consideration of our Schools.
