We are helping those from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with mental or physical disabilities to have equal access to opportunities. Please donate to support our cause.We have planning permission to build a centre on the canal bank of the Royal Military Canal which will provide modern facilities in a permanent building. The building will provide changing rooms and showers for male, female and staff paddlers. Facilities will be specially designed to ensure access and ease of use by those with various disabilities. There will be a room which can be used for indoor training, meetings and shelter in inclement weather as well as being available for use by the local community . Rev G I Ebenezer is our Chairman. Over the past ten and half years we sent more than £380,000 for our projects, which includes £30,000 Tsunami relief and around £55,000 War relief. Bridge of love has trained more than 77 poor widows and donated sewing machines worth more than Rs 1,600,000 since December 2005. We run an Evening Study programme for the Slum children in Pittakodde, Colombo. (We are renting a hall to conduct educational and religious activities for these people who live in a slum area where there is neither electricity nor educational care available). Jeyakumar, a social worker, and his wife have been providing free evening tuition for the poor outcaste children for years in Trichy, South India. Bridge of Love has been financially supporting this wonderful work for more than three years. In the past we helped Child labour victims in Sivakasi (our very first project) and Shivpur. We now help the Child labour victims in Manduvil , Jaffna. We also annually provide Study materials for more than 1000 poor children as Christmas presents. Providing emergency relief and rebuilding the future of the 1000s of broken and shattered War victims is our current main goal.
