(UK, 1170567) Browse eventsThe Martin Fisher Foundation is working together towards ZERO new HIV infections, ZERO HIV-related deaths, and ZERO HIV stigma in Brighton & Hove. We have a unique opportunity to eliminate HIV within the next generation. We know around 1:10 people with HIV are unaware of their infection and may be unknowingly passing on the infection to others. If we can increase HIV testing across the city and reach the undiagnosed proportion, then they can start effective treatment which will completely supress the virus. Once supressed, or undetectable, the virus is untransmissble. Undetectable equals untransmissable. U=U.By simultaneously improving access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a tablet people at risk can take to prevent HIV acquisition (a bit like contraception to prevent pregnancy), we aim to move TOWARDS ZERO new infections. And by improving knowledge around HIV and ensuring the whole population has up-to-date information we also hope to move TOWARDS Zero HIV-stigma. Help us in our cause by donating today! (UK, 1132303) Browse eventsIt was 150 years ago that Christ Church was built, and since 1863 the church has been at the heart of this community. In that time East Sheen has grown into a busy and thriving community, with thousands of people now coming through the doors of Christ Church every year. To keep up with the needs of the church and local people we are planning to build a small Community Hall. The architect Purcell, known for their work on St Pauls Cathedral amongst others, have been working with us on the design, which compliments the existing Victorian architecture whilst also creating an airy and modern space. The community hall will have a glazed entrance lobby and large windows. There will be a sliding partition between the entrance lobby and the community hall to provide flexibility of either two separate spaces or one larger space. Additional toilet facilities will enable both the existing and new rooms to be self-contained allowing use of both areas independently. The kitchen will be relocated central to both the new and existing areas. There will also be increased storage facilities. Please support this community project, which will serve the needs of the Church and local people, by donating. Christ Church is one of three churches in the Parish of Mortlake with East Sheen. The other two are St Mary the Virgin, Mortlake and All Saints, East Sheen.
(UK, 1148322) Browse eventsAbout us Al Noor Medical Trust operates for and on behalf of the most deprived and poor people of Pakistan in a non-discriminatory manner. We act with compassion and dignity and we aim to support the most disadvantaged members of society with their education as a strategy to help them escape poverty. We can also provide front line medical services to the ill. We are firm believers in wanting for your fellow man, what you want for yourself. Health, happiness and a bright future. These tenets are what we would deem ordinary, but what others would call a luxury. At Al Noor Medical Trust, it is our mission to bridge this gap and tackle poverty, illness and lack of education head on. Our ethos stems from the words of The Prophet (peace be upon him) who said ‘who ever relieve a believer's sufferings in this world, Allah will relieve sufferings of this in the hereafter’. A Future project for Al Noor Medical Trust Education project In some areas in Pakistan people can not afford food to eat never mind education. Nevertheless, education is paramount to resolving the long term problems that many residents of Pakistan face. Therefore we have decided to invest in those who cannot afford basic education as this is fundamental to ensuring their long term betterment. Another project to look out for in the future is Sponsor a child Your sponsorship is pivotal and can help a child achieve his or her true potential and transform their dream into a reality.
