(UK, CS100441) Browse eventsDue to COVID-19, we have missed out many fundraising opportunities this year, including the Staff v Parents Football match, the Easter Eggstravaganza, Quiz Night, the Three Peaks Challenge and most importantly, the annual Summer Fair. We have raised £51,000 so far for the Outdoor Learning Environment, specifically the new Adventure Equipment for the KS2 playground. We are £14,000 short of the £65,000, the bulk of which would have been raised at these missed fundraisers. Please support our school by sponsoring the children to run 2.6 miles on the new running track. They will complete this in their PE lessons from Monday 19th October -Friday 23rd October 2020. If you are able to, we would really appreciate any donations you can make to get the ball rolling for raising the remaining amount. Thank you for visiting our Virgin Money Giving page.

(UK, 1135752) Browse eventsAl-Mizan Charitable Trust is a UK funder that supports disadvantaged individuals and families living in poverty through small grants and interest-free loans of up to £500.Recently we funded 24 year old Layla, who is a refugee from war-torn Congo, where she was raped by a militia group at the age of 15 years. She fled her home country, with her grandmother, after her family were killed. Settled in the UK, she married a few years ago, but her husbance was violent towards her. After becoming pregnant, she fled her husband’s home, afraid that her husband’s regular beatings would harm her unborn child. She now lives in a hostel, sharing a room with a crack addict. Layla works 25 hours a week on minimum wage as a cleaner, earning just £152 per week (gross), struggling to meet her basic living costs. She is also paying back the loan for her grandmother’s funeral costs, who passed away last year. She wants to go to college, to improve her English, but government subsidies for ESOL classes have now been cut. She applied to the Trust for £200.Although the UK benefits from a welfare system, the sheer reality is that many fall through the gaps, or simply do not have enough to survive. We need your help to give needy individuals and families, the chance to break the vicious cycle of poverty.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity facilitating and funding a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS), and promoting better education about ME. The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME. We are a small charity but with a growingnumber of supporters with big hearts - and a determination to initiate the bestpossible research to find the cause of myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) anddevelop treatments. We have links nationwide and internationally and a foundingmember of The European ME Alliance. We receive no funding from government/governmentorganisations and the charity does not employ staff with all work being performed by volunteers with no salaries. The charity decided early on that biomedical research into ME wascrucial in order to make progress in treating this disease and that educationof healthcare staff, media, politicians, patient groups and patients was to bea priority. Our international conferences and research colloquiums provide aplatform for research and a means of facilitating education about ME. Wewelcome all support for our work. The charity has recently facilitated theformation of a UK Centre of Excellence for ME based in Norwich Research Park.
