(UK, 1111805) The Mad Foundation helps people in some of the world's poorest countries to help themselves, by working at a grassroots level to develop much needed sustainable community resources. Their objective is to advance education and alleviate poverty in any part of the world. They have helped build and renovate hundreds of schools, built orphanages, clinics, workshops, water and sanitation systems, helped kids with educational scholarships and helped provide sports and health resources throughout Africa, South America, and South East Asia. Money raised for the Mad Foundation will always be used on appropriate projects with the most immediate need.

We support local families to build a better community and work in partnership with local people to create opportunities for personal and social development. We offer high quality childcare, family support and educational opportunities. We are based in Bensham, Gateshead but work with families across the Borough and beyond. Our services reach over 1500 people per year and directly over support 1000 families, including those in need of emotional and practical support. All families are welcome at St Chad’s and our Family Support team helps many parents struggling with fragile self confidence or low self esteem by providing emotional and practical help when they need it. Many families feel isolated and St.Chad’s provides a vital link to the community by offering access to a wide range of services at our centre or by working in partnership with others.

Working with experts, psychologists and successful dyslexics, we develop campaigns, films, tools and tests to explain dyslexic thinking. Dyslexic minds process information in divergent, lateral ways. In fact they’ve created some of the world's greatest inventions, brands and art. However many still perceive dyslexia as a disadvantage. We want to ensure all dyslexics are identified, inspired and enabled to reach their potential.

Norton Pre-School is a not-for-profit charity providing Early Years education for two to five year olds and has been operating very successfully since the 1970s. As a charity, the Pre-School relies upon the proceeds of regular fundraising events and activities in order to keep fees low and to provide the best possible facilities and resources for children attending the Pre-School, Breakfast and After-School Clubs. Over the years, Norton Pre-School has known several homes in Norton, the current one being of a temporary construction and nearing the end of its intended lifespan. Therefore, our current fundraising goal is to raise sufficient funds to be able to replace this with a new and improved permanent building. This is a huge but necessary undertaking which will benefit all children using the Pre-School’s invaluable services for years to come. Please help in any way you can. All donations made to the Woodhouse Centre are greatly appreciated. Founded by Mrs Betty Woodhouse in 1971, the Woodhouse Centre provides a friendly environment for the retired and disabled residents of Oxted and it’s surrounding area. Members of all ages, active and not so active can undertake a wide variety of crafts such as knitting, tapestry, needlework and chair caning. Items produced are sold in our autumn and spring fairs to help raise funds for the continuation of the Centre. A team of members are also dedicated to making poppies for the annual Poppy Appeal.
