Gauzebrook Group (UK, Funding) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Funding the ministry of the Gauzebrook Schools and Children's Worker, building a centre of excellence for training The Rural Schools and Churches Worker has been an active role since 2011 within the eight parishes in the Gauzebrook Churches Group. The role supports these village communities so that children and young people can benefit from greater access to age-appropriate worship, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their faith and spirituality, greater opportunity to develop friendships and sharing music and food. The group has four rural primary schools. We are developing a centre of excellence for rural ministry which can reach out to offer support and training for parishes in a similar context beyond our immediate neighbourhood. As carefully sown seeds enable ‘Little Lights’ to become ‘Teenagers Of All Sorts Together’ (TOAST), young people explore their faith within a welcoming and friendly context. Children nurture friendships, ask questions and share ideas and suggestions, equipping them with the skills needed to illuminate their world as their journeys continue into adulthood. YTD Raised: £0.00

The RSCM is driven by our mission to bring good music, well composed and well made, to worship. From magazines, music, and books to awards schemes, residential courses, and distance learning; from training for organists to getting pianists onto the organ seat for the first time; from Voice for Life singing and choral education to courses for cathedral singers -- if it is about church music anywhere in the world, the RSCM is there.  We support and enable musicians, composers, directors, singers, instrumentalists, and clergy of many traditions and styles. We field Regional Music Advisers to help our volunteer committees put on events, bring young people to church music, take music to churches that do not have any, and promote best practice.  In the Salisbury administrative centre, our dedicated staff assists with the myriad support needs of working church musicians:  contracts, commissioning of music and articles, distance and on-site courses, the Sunday by Sunday liturgy planner, licensing and copyright … and much more. The RSCM is funded through membership dues (organisational and individual), publication sales, and course fees. But to sustain our 4,500 UK members, 1,500 Friends, 600 volunteers, and 2,500 international members, we must also receive charitable gifts and legacies from generous individuals who understand the value of music in worship.  Support us today!

We are a relatively new charity funding specialist equipment and therapy sessions to children with acquired brain injury or trauma. Charlie, aged 3 and a half, suffered a stroke during cardiac surgery in 2015. He lost movement to his left side and the ability to understand and produce speech. Our equipment is helping Charlie to learn how to communicate again. Aiden, aged 7, suffered weakness and loss of vision as the result of a brain tumour. He has just flown to America for proton therapy and without our tablet he would not be able to access educational applications or see his mum and little sister on Skype. Harry, aged 2, suffers several seizures a day, following a gunshot wound to his head. By using our dark den and sensory toys he is gaining motion in the left side of his body and re-bonding with his brother. He has now been discharged from hospital. From hospital equipment, to dark rooms and iPads we're proud of how much we've raised the last few years so that we've been able to help children with brain injury. All the children we help are referred by either their occupational therapist, nurses and doctors on the neuro-rehab ward at Bristol Children's hospital. Or other charities like Marthacare (now part of the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal) Child Brain Injury Trust and the British Institute for Brain Injured Children.  Charity No: 1163173 Find out more Website http://www.jemimalayzell.com/the-trust.html Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Jemimalayzelltrust/ Twitter https://twitter.com/JemimaLayzell
