(UK, 1123886) Browse eventsIn 2008, The Wish Tree Charity was founded by 3 mothers within the village of Flamstead. Originally, its' aim was to support those Flamstead families with dependants, where a family member was facing serious illness or death. By funding the provision of childcare, domestic help and transport, The Wish Tree Charity helps the family unit to continue to operate as normally as possible in such difficult times. The Wish Tree has received such overwhelming support for its work, that this year it has decided to expand its constitution to encompass funding for any Flamstead resident (- whether they have dependants or not), following the recent diagnosis of a serious illness/ operation/death. Funds are provided through an annual fundraising event, personal donations and sponsored events.
(UK, 510857) Browse eventsSheffield Bird Study Group was formed in December 1972 to serve the interests of birdwatchers in the Sheffield area. The group's recording area, covering twelve 10km squares with the city roughly in the middle, is hugely diverse, stretching north to the outskirts of Barnsley, south to Chesterfield, east to the lowlands beyond Rotherham and Bolsover, and west to the highest tops of the Peak District National Park. We aim to promote an interest in birds in the community, provide something of interest to all levels of birder, co-ordinate fieldwork and recording in the area, and work with and complement the work of like-minded local and national organisations for the benefit of birds. SBSG is registered charity No 510857.
