YTD Raised: n/aGalloway Mountain Rescue Team provide search and rescue services in Dumfries and Galloway and South Ayrshire. We are a team of highly trained volunteers operating from our base in Newton Stewart. We cover an area from Stranraer to west of Dumfries and from the Solway Coast to the South Ayrshire Hills. The team, which consists entirely of unpaid volunteers, is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies at the request of Police Scotland (Dumfries and Galloway Division). In addition, we provide assistance to the Scottish Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard. We do not restrict ourselves to the remote hill regions but respond to incidents in low level, farming, coastal or urban areas - essentially wherever the team is needed. The team also supports emergencies in other areas and we have a close working relationship with Moffat Mountain Rescue Team who cover the eastern area of Dumfries and Galloway Region. We hold charitable status and rely on public support.

In 2000 it underwent a name change and became Positive Health (Lincolnshire).Our aims have remained the same since then, fighting poverty, social isolation and discrimination that those living with HIV can suffer.
