Mid Wessex Singers are a small. friendly, four part choir based in the ancient market town of Somerton in Somerset. We provide entertainment for local people in care homes, sheltered housing and Alzheimer's Memory Cafes as well as staging Christmas and Spring Concerts. In preparing and rehearsing for our concerts young musicians from our local area have the opportunity to develop their skills as musical director, soloist, composer or accompanist.

Action on Bladder Cancer (ABC) is the only UK charity purely focused on improving the lives of people with bladder cancer. Every year in the UK, approximately 10,000 people are diagnosed with bladder cancer. Despite it being the 4th most common cancer in men and the 11th most common cancer in women, there is very limited public awareness towards the disease and it has a relatively low priority on the public health agenda. The primary aim of ABC is to help improve the care of people with bladder cancer through awareness raising, education and research.

The Friends of Glen O'Dee was started in 1988 to provide home comforts for the patients and equipment not supplied by the NHS for this community hospital. If we can help with equipment to prevent patients having to go Aberdeen for treatment its means they don't have a long journey in an ambulance, over the years we have provided an ECG machine, Bladder Scanner, about to purchase a Doppler machine for DVT'S and much more. We also had the conservatories built for families to use when when their relative has a terminal illness.

Anyone aged 16 years and over can ask for an appointment with one of our counsellors. Our 40 trained and qualified counsellors and therapists give their time freely and between them they offer 90 therapy hours every week.People are accepted as they are which enables them to talk freely about themselves without fear of being judged.
