Recent spending of the funds we've raised include the building of a brand new Library building, large outdoor playground equipment, new reading scheme books, supporting the transformation of the schools external play areas and a brand new sound system. We are always looking for new ideas and individuals who can bring a variety of skills and enthusiasm to our committee meetings. Lands End - John O'Groats - by bike! July 2011   Nigel Argall - our Director - will be (attempting to) cycle the 980 miles of the 'End to End' route in about two weeks starting on July 16th. He will be accompanied by all four of his grown up children and will be rasing money jointly for both 'The Bridge' and 'Childrens Chance' (see www.childrenschance.co.uk) - the Salisbury based childrens charity that gives young people from poor backgrounds support to engage with sport, music, cultural and travel opportunities. Please help us to make every mile worthwhile by sponsoring us and why not follow our progress on our blog:       The Bridge is a Christian charity serving young people in primary and secondary schools in the Salisbury area. We have a number of key activities. We seek to challenge young people to explore spiritual issues in general and the Christian faith in particular, often done through lively and engaging assemblies, RE and PSHE lessons. We also seek to support young people in the transition to adulthood through after school clubs, emotional literacy classes, attendance projects, leadership training and tailored pastoral support for those having difficulty in school. We strongly believe in working with, and within schools to support young people in whatever way possible. We have five paid members of staff and about 20 volunteers and are welcomed into about 30 schools in the Salisbury area.

The London Taxi Benevolent Association for War Disabled was formed in February 1947 and in the same year, the charity organised a convoy of 25 taxis taking 50 war disabled to Brighton. From 1949 to the present day, we have made Worthing our annual destination. In 2015, over 120 cab drivers volunteered their time to take part in the trip. Other outings include trips to Normandy and Arnhem to commemorate a number of different anniversaries. London taxi drivers and committee members give their time to ensure the success of these outings through driving and raising funds. The funding of the association is purely through charity donations and collections throughout the year.The charity’s patrons include Dame Vera Lynn and Joanna Lumley. Action for Ingwavuma is a UK registered charity which works in a remote part of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Every day the people who live in Ingwavuma, struggle to survive, dealing with extreme poverty and the full impact of the HIV Aids pandemic. The life expectancy here is 39 years. Action for Ingwavuma helps this community to help itself, working with a women's group and an educational charity. We set up and support community gardens, sponsor orphans, undertake extensive help with water and sanitary projects, fund marketing initiatives for the self-help women's group called Fancy Stitch, buy high nutrient food supplements, have bought an essential vehicle for the women's group etc. All the funds we raise here in the UK go to the charity, all the workers in the UK are volunteers and pay for all their own expenses. We are in constant contact with our charity partners in Ingwavuma and visit regularly to ensure that all the money raised is correctly spent.
