The Sporting Memories Foundation has been established to recruit, train and support volunteers to work with older sports fans, including those living with dementia and other memory problems, in the use of sports based reminiscence activities. The use of sport as a focus for community wide, inter-generational reminiscence based activities has been developed in the UK by the Sporting Memories Network (SMN) CIC. The Sporting Memories Foundation will train and support volunteers to engage in community projects run by SMN and, should funds be forthcoming, establish further community wide projects across England and Wales Charity No: 01204267 Find out more Website http://www.sportingmemoriesnetwork.com/charity Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sporting-Memories/608352365894392 Twitter http://www.twitter.com/sportsmemnet YouTube https://vimeo.com/60324400

Love4Leah where memories and smiles are free. Love4Leah was set up in memory of Leah Powell who passed away at the age of 13 to Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare childhood cancer. During her 13 month battle Leah raised thousands of pounds for charity. In Leah's memory we want to provide a holiday home for children fighting cancer where we provide everything for the families to have a relaxing carefree holiday. While we are raising money for the end result of 'Butterfly Lodge' we will be providing children going through cancer and their family with days out or short breaks. We know only too well how important it is to make memories and to make these brave children smile. Please support in any way you can no matter how small every penny goes towards those special smiles. Thank you x

Turning the Tide, UK is a small, Brighton and Hove charity - Charity Number 1122935. We registered the charity over ten years ago and have been involved with children's and youth work in various settings for 27 years. We aim to build and strengthen community, particularly through supporting young families and children. Often working with those in significant need, we aim to strengthen family relationships, build confidence and raise self-esteem by arranging residential weekends away with appropriate activities under the title 'TREASURE'. We also offer pastoral support to the families between these events. Your donation will be used to help needy single parent families, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to have a holiday, to enjoy a quality weekend away in the West Sussex countryside. They are invited on a 'donate as you can afford' basis, which leaves us with a significant deficit. We have an excellent, long track record working with children and have been arranging these weekends for families since 2012. We have two weekends booked for this year, two more scheduled for 2018 and we're already looking into 2019. One Mum, "Annie", who came on our last event wrote to us recently, ending her text by saying, "It all started with you two inviting us to TREASURE when we were literally alone in the world. I'll never forget your kindness." There must be many 'Annies' out there needing to know they are loved!

Ruxley Church is currently fund raising for its Memorial Project. It is a part of our vision that members of the church and local community should be able to remember the loved ones they have lost.To this end the church is providing a Memorial Book to be kept in the Chapel, recording the names of those who have left us and messages of comfort. An on-line Memorial Book will also be made available. Outside the Chapel the church intends erecting a Memorial Stone which will be used for times of communal remembrance and as a focus when local or national grief needs to find expression. Finally, our most ambitious objective is to build a Memorial space where the names of loved ones will be recorded on mounted plaques, surrounded by the beauty of an English garden. Each of these is for the church and for the community and we ask for your kind support in making these a reality. Our members have already donated sufficient for us to press on with the first two objectives; the garden will require more. Please prayerfully consider if you can help. All donations made through MyDonate will be towards the Memorial Project until the work of the Project is complete. Ruxley Church has been a Church of England and Methodist Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) since 2002 . We are one Christian family as we worship, learn and have fun together. We continue to grow in faith as we rely on God's provisions day by day.We want to share the good news of God in Jesus Christ in both words and actions, and help others discover that God's love and forgiveness are freely available to all.We are excited as we continue to worship in our new church building and explore the opportunities it is bringing us within our local community. We know that as we rely on God's Holy Spirit he will equip us daily to serve him more and more.Ruxley Church is dynamic in engaging with its local community and extends a warm welcome at Monday and Thursday cafe and Mother and Toddlers session. There are a host of other activities available such as dancing, badminton, men’s and ladies groups. We are also privileged to be able to support the West Ewell Food Bank.
