The Mulberry Tree Steiner Early Years Group (UK, 1099561) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The Mulberry Tree Kindergarten and Parent/Toddler group was founded by parents whose children’s needs were central to their decision to provide a Waldorf Steiner Early Years Education. By creating a beautiful kindergarten for our children to work and play in, we encourage them to have a sense of wonder, reverence and love for their environment. Children’s healthy enthusiasm for life is shown in their movement and imaginative play. Kindergarten settings are beautiful; they nourish the young child’s senses and enhance his/her well-being. The kindergarten children play, tidy away, pause, dream, rest and are given songs, rhymes, poems and stories, carefully chosen to accommodate each child within the changing seasons and years. As each child grows and changes the curriculum moves and breathes too, supporting his/her development. The kindergarten is part of the Mulberry Tree Steiner Early Years Group. The Group aims to support the development and the education of young children by helping parents to understand and provide Steiner education. The Group offers opportunities for all children, regardless of race, culture, religion, disability or means, encourages the study of the needs of such groups and acts as a resource centre for news of local and national Steiner events and courses. The Group is also currently developing a Class 1 for 7-year-olds, continuing on from Kindergarten. The Mulberry Tree’s home is the small and welcoming Parish Hall in Cromhall, South Gloucestershire. The kindergarten toys, tables, chairs and equipment are all made from natural materials like wood, beeswax, wool, clay and willow. Steiner Waldorf kindergartens believe it is important for young children to be in touch with the product of the natural world around them.

SAMARITANS OF INVERCLYDE (UK, 219432BW) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

The Samaritans of Inverclyde are here for people who are in despair, even to the point of considering taking their own life. When we are contacted by telephone, e-mail, SMS texting or face-to-face at the branch, we listen and do not judge. We allow our caller anonymity and provide a safe and confidential service where anyone can speak of his or her own problems. We believe that by doing this our caller can then see their options clearer. We have specially trained volunteers and are also in partnership with mental health organisations and the homeless. Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide and our mission is to expand our branch to be available as many hours as possible for people in need of our support. The branch is self funded and costs about £10000 a year to run, therefore any donations are gratefully received and contribute to the continuity of our service.
