Based at the Torch Centre in Hexham, Northumberland, it is runentirely by trained volunteers.Chrysalis organises a large range of activities which, because of thevolunteers’ support, enables each member to participate fully in them. Familyand friends can join in the activity, or leave the member to enjoy the classwith the rest of the group, while they have some time to themselves. For Family members If someone you care about has memory problems, you'rewelcome to come along to our monthly family members' support group. It's achance to talk about your own experiences and feelings, or just listen to thoseof people in a similar situation. It can be a big help! In July 2015, the founders twin boys, Oscar, and Noah, were born at 25 weeks. Tragically, Noah lived for only 30 hours, while Oscar faced various health conditions. Balancing their older child’s needs, coping with the loss of Noah, and managing constant anxiety about Oscar's health created immense challenges for the family. Recognising the struggles faced by families in similar situations, the founder of Noah's Star is determined to use her personal experiences and passion to help others. Our objectives are to: • Provide emotional support for the whole family facing the challenges of premature birth • Share practical advice and coping strategies. • Reduce feelings of isolation by connecting parents with others who have similar experiences. • Promote mental health and well-being for the whole family during and after their NICU stay.
