YTD Raised: £0.00Cherwell Theatre Company is a creative home for young theatre-makers in Banbury and the surrounding areas. Through active participation in theatre projects, we create opportunities to inspire, train, nurture and develop young performers, directors, stage managers, designers and technicians. We strive to serve our participants and our audiences by producing ambitious, innovative, affordable and accessible theatre for our community. During our thirteen-year history, we have presented:twelve festive productions; three festivals showcasing local young writers, directors, designers and performers; two Theatre in Education productions playing to more than 100,000 local schoolchildren; and a number of street theatre and site-specific works such as ‘A Shakespeare Summer Soiree’ at Broughton Castle. Our alumni have gone on to train at prestigious drama schools including RADA, Mountview, The Central School of Speech & Drama, Italia Conti, Birmingham School of Acting and the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts: many choose to return to work with us, as professionals, post-training. Others have gone on to successful roles in non-arts based jobs. Cherwell Theatre Company is proud to welcome all young voices, regardless of background or experience. We hold no auditions, and as a registered charity with low overheads, are able to keep our fees low.
