We are a group of parents, plus a staff representative, who get together quite informally once a half term to discuss and plan a number of fundraising activities. In the past we have funded a new ICT suite, refurbishment of the school hall including sound and lighting systems, outdoor play equipment, sports kit and much more. We raise the funds for these donations through a number of key events each year (a Christmas Fair in early December, the sale of personalised Christmas cards and tea towels created by the children, a Summer Fete in July, an annual Quiz Night with Pie ‘n Pea Supper, Discos, Movie Nights, half-termly cake sales and other one-off events). Last year we managed to raise over £10,000.

PROVIDE FUNDING AND ASSISTANCE IN EDUCATION, MEDICAL, HEALTH, RELIEF OF POVERTY. Abu Darda Radiallahu ‘anhu reported that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, said: ‘Seek among weak ones, for you are given provision and help only because of the weak amongst you.’ One of life’s most important question: how to find a first-rate Doctor when you need one. The CauseIn 2008 RSVP setup a medical diagnostics clinic in Rander, India to provide the poor and needy with free medical consultations and subsidised medication. The centre has gone from strength to strength and in the last 5.5 years has helped over 14,864 people, including many women and children. The centre now employs 4 Doctors and 2 nurses, supported by volunteers. In July 2008 RSVP achieved charity status for its continued work helping the poor. The work must continue and its success is dependent on people like you. In order to continue the work, it is necessary to invest in larger premises. The cost of this investment is £150,000. Please donate as much as you can. The aim is to raise over £50,000 in order to help purchase a centre to contribute to the expansion plans. Please help, however you can. Firstly, supporting our patients and their families by working together as a “whole team” with the doctors, nurses and other medical staff using the motivation of fundraising alongside our patients to help them fight cancer through the positive energy that this camaraderie creates. Secondly, we use the money that has been raised to provide the “icing on the cake“ by funding things that the NHS otherwise could not afford and stimulating innovation in cancer care through research and the introduction of new treatments.PLANETS is more than just another local cancer charity, it is a motivating and unifying force that is changing the way that we approach the fight against cancer across the central south coast of England. Our aim is not just to save lives but also to enrich them in the process by helping the “whole team” to focus together on our shared goals.
